If you are touring Jelgava, visiting the Holy Trinity Church tower is a must. There are nice modern interactive exhibits on several floors. In one of the exhibits on fashion, I learned that Jelgava was a big fashion destination and even Casanova visited the town. But the real draw is the top floor viewing area. The glass rooftop is striking and offers a beautiful view of the entire town especially on a clear sunny day.

St trinity church is a historical place mixed with a lot of modern things. There you can not only learn city's history, enjoy art gallery, but also eat in the restaurant or explore the city from the top of the tower, which definitely is my favourite spot in Jelgava.

If visiting Jelgava, you will almost certainly visit the clocktower (as it is informally known) as it is the centrepiece of the town centre and probably the main tourist destination of Jelgava. It is open until a reasonable time; my girlfriend and I arrived late in the afternoon before dinner, and they were still happy to let us in to have a look around.

I was expecting it to be merely a viewing platform in a historic landmark at first, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that as well as the top viewing platform they also sell tickets to the floors in the middle of the tower - which houses three storeys of exhibition rooms about the history of Jelgava and Latvija, given that the first four presidents of Latvija from independence until the occupation were local to Jelgava or Zemgale. The museum is not the largest, but incredibly informative and also interactive, making it a fun and interesting way to discover more of the local history.

Unfortunately, by the time we reached the top it had started raining so the fact that the top floor is covered by a glass roof did not make it the easiest place to enjoy the view from. Regardless of that though, for the relatively small ticket price, the museum exhibition was definitely worth the trip. Especially with the monument to Jānis Čakste just outside the tower, it was great to find out more about him and the early history of Latvija as a nation state in the tower museum.

Top of the tower is a modern addition made of glass. Sun or rain you have 360 degree views of whole town. We spotted few nice looking places from top that we missed from ground level

The new renovated Holy Trinity Church tower is something that should be in everyone's must-see list!
Everything is interactive and there are so much to see for young and for older people. You can learn about the history of Jelgava, test Your self and receive a diploma afterwards, as well as try your hand in sawing and in so on.. Don't miss the panorama view from the sightseeing platform on the 9th floor!
The stuff is also very friendly and helpful. Also, You can buy some souvenirs and get maps (free of charge).
Went there many times!

Very beautiful view to almost all Jelgava, from the tower! Also it is worth to check out museum exposition, nothing much but modern and interesting.

Went there on Sunday and it was open! You can choose from the museum + tower or only tower. So we went for that and it was quick elevator ride (price = 1 euro AND you can pay with the card). However, it was unbearable warm under the glass roof and the cooler had crashed and was blowing 37 degrees hot air. :D We had a binocular with us and were able to see even small details of the town.

A lift can take you to the 9th floor with good views of the area. There are exhibitions on each floor.

This is how a muzeum should be like! The building is old and georgius, but the museum is really modern! Informative but interactive, a lot of things to to, and the panorama terace is also great! It was a really good experience, I recomend it!
