A must see for travellers to Krakow. I would never have believed salt could be so versatile. For an entrance fee of £84 zloty(roughly £18) you will not be disappointed. However if you have mobility problems you might struggle with the 800 steps down although...More

Went there with family and it has been an excellent experience. Though there will be a lot of walking, but if you are up for It, then it should be a must visit.

Our hotel offered to book a tour at 155 PLN each. We were on a budget so decided to do it independently. We took the 304 bus from outside Red Brick Apartments/opposite the white church in street called Kurniki which is opposite the main shopping...More

Very interesting trip. Our guide Dominique was brilliant! The Salt Mines are very beautiful and definitely worth a visit whilst visiting Krakow. We went on a Sunday at 9.30 and it was very busy, so much so that at every stopping point we were waiting...More

Although the mine is closed for salt extraction... 400 hundred miners still work there for maintenance. It's really amazing! Go!

How people dug the tunnels and shafts is amazing! No modern technology to help them. Our guide Lisa Betts(or similar name very short lady) was very good. Lots of interesting facts interspersed with humour. There are a lot of steps down but you are warned...More

The Salt Mine is a 'must do' when visiting Poland (IMO). Well organised and a wonderful, English speaking tour guide was supplied. Quite spooky if you are lagging behind and taking photographs (hands up - that would be me then!). Many steps to descend and...More

This place is astonishing and goes back hundreds of years with over 200 miles of tunnels. We were disappointed with the quality of our guide who gave us little information and was more interested in counting us than telling us about the history and development...More

Amazing to see and to think it took 700 + years to get to how it is now the church is breathtaking and the pools are great and the salt carvings are impressive to say the least but after seeing chamber after chamber it gets...More

An enjoyable trip and a 'must see' if visiting Kraków. My husband and I did not book any sort of tour to go here and simply took the train and purchased our tickets once we arrived which was simple to do and cheaper than booking...More

Went from Krakow Głowny train station. Asked at the ticket window to the salt mine. Got a ticket. 7pln for two adults one way. The salt mine is at the end of the station. Literally, the last stop. (One platform at that... More

I'd suggest you do the tourist tour, if you can only fit one in. I'm pretty certain if you do the full 3 hour Tourist route, you'll be covering most, if not all, of what the Miner's tour covers anyway; the latter half of... More

There is a lift but be warned it’s not your Otis lifts you are used to in the UK. It’s a miners lift and rattles and is horrible.
