Written sign saying "not open today", next day there were signs of life but it wasn't open.
Apparently you need to call in advance to make a reservation, however it is a pity, as I'd been there a few years ago and had no problem to drink with no appointment.

Beautifull view and great wine (you need to like moravian style wine). Owner helpfull and funny. Moravian hospitality, easy chill. Opened from 7pm (usually). Nice, small dog with great apetite and willignes to share your plate. For us, the best wine place in Mikulov.

Very nice place to eat lunch. Beautiful surroundings. Good Czech food. Excellent wine. Easy parking. Clean bathrooms. Friendly service but a little slow. Nice table settings. Would recommend. Would return.

On what you like or expect when you visit a wine tasting venue. I will start off with the good:
This was walking distance from our hotel, albeit up a hill, but easy to come down after a night of drinking :)
The place is quaint with 3 wooden tables and benches to sit at. While the owner has a heater nearby, dress warm. The owner who did the wine tasting was funny. There was 11 of us and we also prepaid for appetizers and 1/2 chicken for our main meal each (plenty).
Here is the not so good stuff. I really did not like any of the wines we tasted. They were all dry and I find that the selection was not good. I will not pretend that I know a lot about wine, but 3 others who came with me also felt the same. For us it was just an ok evening, but definitely would not come back. There is better out there.
