Gothic monastery church. Only to be visited by guidetour (I believe around half past three afternoon), otherwise one can peek trough the iron latticework. Photographing is forbidden but as the guide keeps his eyes closed during the explanation for 70% of the time you can try your luck (as I did). Its high tower dominates the former Augustinian convent founded in 1367. The Rožmberk family took their foundation to heart and donated fortunes to the kanonie. A new Treaty coincided with the construction of the Church in 1369, after the founding of the monastery was completely rebuilt in monastery church. A fire in 1723 demolished the original gothic vault in the choir, it was later restored in Baroque style. Aftyer the fire the Baroque church tower was rebuilt in neo-Gothic style. Major reconstruction of the Church took place between 1897 and 1903. Square floor plan in the shape of cross corridor in almost intact form. All four walls with arcades, narrow ledges and Windows overlook the courtyard. Each of the four wings of the Gallery has a vault in addition to their own field. As a result, the Windows are divided into three rods with rich tracery. 15th Century paintings on the walls. 1400 Gothic Madonna statue. The church was mentioned as a parish church as aearly as 1280. With the foundation of the Augustinian monastery in 1367, it became the monastery church and its reconstruction began at the same time as the construction of the monastery. A remarkable feature of the church is its double nave, constructed with a rare purity of design, which was the first to be built in the Czech lands. The Gothic arch of the double nave is supported by slender columns standing on the longitudinal axis of the church. The church was equipped with furnishing of high artistic value. The panels of the high altar are the work of the "Master of the Trebon Altar" and ranks among the masterpieces of Czech Gothic painting from early 14th century. On the wall preserved Gothic murals second half of 15th century. The church was partially damaged by fire in 1781 and after this disaster rebuilt, in presbytery baroque barrel vault. After the last principal reconstruction in 1897-1903 was the bell tower restored in the original Gothic style. After the abrogation in 1785 of the adjacent Augustinian monastery the church became a decanal church. A papal decree of the 3 June 1997, issued on request of Trebon parish, enlarged the name of the church to "Church of the Virgin Mary the Queen and St. Giles".
