An oasis of peace in the heart of the historic town of Tabor offers not only peace but also a unique example of plants and trees from all over the world. In spring, everything blooms and in autumn you see an incredible range of colors. The main emphasis, however, is not an example of the economic system and so the individual plants are sorted by importance (forage, cereals, vegetables, herbs, etc.). We should not forget the beautiful arboretum and greenhouses focused on desert and subtropical flora.

We've searched for a solid 20min but didn't found an entrance. It looked so nice, not clean but fascinately empty and deserted. But nowhere an entrance . Luckily the Jordan is nearby so the walk wasn't wasted.

The botanical gardens proved to be a huge disappointment and a total waste of time when we visited them on a late afternoon in September. First of all – the place was deserted, and I don't mean almost empty – but TOTALLY deserted, like a ghost town. Secondly, the trees and flowers were very average looking and the place looked quite neglected. plus, it's a rather long walk from the nearest metro station (Karlovo Náměstí). Definitely not worth the visit.

In greenhouses and garden beds grow more than 4000 plants. Founded in 1866 it is the second oldest one in the Czech Republic. Since 1906 garden seeds from all over the world: 400 places in Europe, Asia, America, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and hundreds in the Czech Republic. One can admire on all kinds of plants: gardens and greenhouses, perennials and annual plants, Arboretum. The main research program represents the so-called "economic system", aimed at productive crops which were used in the past before the use of agriculture-chemiecals, in the framework of this programme old types of spices and cultivated wheat species dating back to 8000 years ago. The Botanical Garden is freely accessible.
