About
The designer of the 17th century defence fortifications is architect Erik Dahlberg. A total of seven bastions were built: Honor, Gloria, Victoria, Fama, Triumph, Fortuna, and Spes. There were interior rooms (cells) in some of the bastions. In the 1930s, tours were organized there. During the Second World War, the local residents used the cells as bomb shelters. Work has been started to dry our and light the bastions.

The place it self really interesting and the moist and cool temperature inside made a right atmosphere. We took a tour with guide in Kasematid and also old Narva City tour with guide Denis. Believe me, it was really something. Funny stories and legends took us to the history, the battle with old wall door and many many things more, just made our day. It was cold weather and we nearly didn´t noticed it. So, great thanks to Denis and I wish you lot of fun with other visitors and people. It was super!

Visit to Narva Bastions was the first part of our Narva adventure and we liked it very much. Interesting and engaging(!) excursion that you can get in English, Estonian or Russian. Thrilling environment, friendly staff. I think I've seen our children so excited after coming out for the first time.

We've been on a guided tour, reserved in advance. It was a little bit cold inside, almost the same freezing cold as outside, but the humorous guide just made our day. Tickets are available on spot, park your car near the entrance. Watch your head and be polite with local ghosts.

Bastions are visible in most of the town - not pretty or anything, but when you read the signs and the history, they are very interesting.

We was in tour without guide, but they had audio guide available without extra fee.
There was quite cold and wet but it's worth visiting. Price was 5eur per person.

We took guided tour. But you can have also audiotour by yourself. The place has very interesting and long history. Guide gives you a excellent overwiev about the history and legends. There is quite chilly even during the summer, but if you want you will get plaid.

Above Victoria Bastion is an entrance to the cashier's desk, where you can get an audio-guide (4 EUR with admission) or arrange a tour. You then walk back up and down, through a second door, to the actual bastion. It is not a long tour - less than one hour with the audio guide. It is very interesting, though, and the guide is well put together. Recommended if you're north of the city center.

A great walk on the bastions and nearby together with churches and castle. Highlight of the Narva. Not touristic at all. At times people were even afraid to answer questions about where can we catch a taxi.
