Go early!
Jul 2020 • Couples
Very busy in the summer, but luckily we were there early enough to still enjoy some quite time.

It's very child friendly with information in Czech and English. The slide down is for children 1.20m and above and a fun experience, also it saves you the time of walking down.

Fun trip to the trees
Jul 2019 • Family
The Timber Trail in Karkonosze near Janske Lazne was an awesome experience. My 19yo daughter, wife and our friend went there on a whim and happened to also see a wonderful display of birds of pray with many owls.
As for the path and the various points of information, I'd recommend this place for absolutely everyone!

Beautiful construction
Sep 2019
Great idea. To present nature to people in such a natural way is fascinating. The path between the tree canopy makes it possible to experience the forest and wildlife in it. Extremely exciting construction that leaves no one indifferent. Trail of tree crowns is located in the forests of Krkonoše National Park. Along the wooden paths exist instructive boards with quite interesting facts about the trees and forest to get to know. At the top of the construction is an interesting watch with an imitation of birdsong. From the summit, at 45 meters above sea level, there is a stunning view of Janska Lazna and the numerous slopes of mountains and ski resorts. At the foothills is a great restaurant with home-cooked food and bar with indispensable Czech beers.

Brilliant for family day out

We absolute love hiking but with a 5month old baby it's a bit difficult. But this attraction is absolutely perfect! Buggy friendly. All details translated to English which was a great plus as my hubby is English so he could enjoy it too.

Nice but too expensive
Aug 2019
It is a nice place but VERY EXPENSIVE. I can understand some fee for maintenance but 10€ for just walking... And, if you want to use the tobogan, you must pay additional 2€. I would not pay again if they do not decrease it.

Nice to do in summer time.
Jul 2019
Very nice activity for families, easily accessible for buggies or wheelchairs, no stairs during the whole walk. About 3km long up & down. Costs around 25 € for 2 adults & 2 children below 12. You have some explanations of the wildlife and plants during the walk. The view from the top of the tower is really great, better in the morning or late in the afternoon for the light. You can even go down a slide from the top of the tower for 2 € per person. There is a souvenir shop as well as a restaurant at the end of the activity.

Awesome View!
Jul 2019
I discovered this place through a tourist program called Wanderbook (Turisticky denik) about what to do in the Pec pod Snezkou area. I have been to many lookout towers throughout the Czech Republic, but this one takes the cake. Trail of the Tree Crowns is just down the road from the turnoff for the Janske Lazne cable car that takes you to the top of Black Mountain (Cerna hora). When you arrive you will see a large pay parking lot in front of the attraction. You take a ticket and pay on your way out.

It is just a short walk to the main gate. When you get your tickets and go in you will walk along a boardwalk that slowly heads out to the woods. As you go deeper you soon realize that the boardwalk continues to go away from the hillside, but level. Pretty soon you will find yourself pretty high up in the trees on the boardwalk suspended by massive stilts and wires, which are also partly anchored by nearby trees. You will feel the slight sway of the boardwalk when the winds pick up.

Eventually, after a nice stroll you will make it to the basement of the tower. In the basement there is a nice presentation showing the life cycle and structure of the forest and local terrain. After that you come to the slow winding ramp that will take you to the top. It takes probably about 20 minutes to walk to the top leisurely. As you get near the top there is a small platform just below the top that allows people to slide down a winding slide all the way to the bottom, which is located in the center. The slide is at an extra cost and I don't think they take credit cards there, so be sure you have some small cash/change on you, if you want to go. The view from the top is wonderful. You will be just a little bit above the tree tops. There is no time limit to how long you can be at the top, so get all the photos you want. The path down is the same that you came up, but it is a relief to your legs and feet that it is one long ramp down, and not steps.

At the end of the walk you will come to the gift shop, and a cafeteria. We didn't eat here. We came in summer, but got there early. When we were leaving about 90 minutes later the parking lot was nearly full, and you could see that there were at least about three times as many people on tower, as there were when we went up. When leaving you simply pay the parking ticket at an automated teller, which takes both cash and credit card. If you are in the area the Tower of the Tree Crowns is definitely worth visiting and spending a couple of hours. Also, most attractions in the area usually allow dogs, but sadly this is one of the exceptions. No pets allowed.

Great top view attraction for anyone
Jul 2019 • Family
The tree top trail is one of best attraction in this area - there are many educational board / desks during the walk, you can learn many things about trees, animals and forest in general. The top view is brilliant, although I think it would be better in winter because you can see more (as the air is cold in winter and is genereally better visibility).
You cal also find there small shop vith local souvenirs, coffee restaurant - couple allready cooked dishes for immediate service (not bad but also not as fantastic "local" food as they wrote on website) and children play ground. The capacity of car park is high and you can also reach this attraction by public transport.

Just an awesome experience climbing gently to reach heights above the roof of the forest and experience unique views. Extraordinary and well worth it.
