An informative and fun beer tour. Even my Mum who is not a beer drinker enjoyed it!
Tours are available to prebook on the website in Latvian, Russian and English.
We walked to the brewery from Valmiera.
Beth, our tour guide, shared the history of the brewery and told us about the beers and soft drinks that are made there.
The beer tastings are generous!
The on-site restaurant and bakery serves delicious food with vegan/vegetarian options.
We all had a fantastic day out!

The Valmiermuiža brewery is definitely the main attraction in Valmiermuiža, which in and by itself is not really much to see: your very average post-Soviet rural village which has seen better days. But the presence of the brewery has indeed revitalised the village, there are English-language tours available, and the beer is among the most delicious Latvian brews -- if a tad pricey. If you go there, a visit to nearby Valmiera is a must. If you're into beer, you may also head over to Brenguļu Abula brewery -- some 8km for Valmiera -- which features a more rural beer and an off the beaten path experience.

Visited the Valmiermuiza brewery this September and did the tour and beer tasting. Everything was top notch (our guide did the tour in English and Russian at the same time) and we were surprised to see how many by-products they also make (different kind of cookies, bread, paper) and that some of the by-products go to the cows who live in the surrounding farms who then give the milk and it ends up as cheese that we also had the chance to taste in beer tasting. What a nice circle of producing! Really loved the non-filtered beer. Keep the beer flowing!

One of the best new Latvian beers is Valmiermuizas, and the brewery is open for visitors and brief tours. The brewery is brand new, contained in a restored manor house in the Valmiera area. It is easily reached on foot (less than a 30 minute walk from the Valmiera bus station, a bit longer walk from the train station). It can easily be a day trip from Riga.

Tours are available in English, and, of course, there is a tasting at the end. Be sure to try the unfiltered brew! The beer is brewed from imported German hops, and is now one of the most demanded beers in Latvia.

Whilst staying in Riga, I took a train trip out for the day and chose Valmiera at random. The rail station is a good 25 minutes walk from town. But it is another 30 minutes walk to the Valmiermuiza so taxis are recommended if you don't have all day to spend here like I did. I sampled all 3 of their draft beers and had a wander around the brewery shop. I think all the beers can be purchased from Riga but I just wanted to do something different. I expect this place to be buzzing in the Summer, but in January there was very few people around.

Went hoping to get a table in the restaurant, to be told it was closed.
All was not lost, the friendly sales assistant talked us through and gave samples of the excellent beer brewed, needless to say we did not leave empty handed. The shop has an excellent selection of locally produced items, not just beer, and is well worth a visit!

The autumn salad i tried fos perfect with the Valmiermuiza dark beer and also chocolate cake. I have no words to describe how good it was. And also the atmosphere of the reataurant - they have thought about every detail with love and care for the customer. The waitresses were very professional. There is also a little souvenir shop. The gifts are very beautiful and not too expensive.
