This is an area of old warehouses, where there's a current renovation process to make into some sort of promenade. For now, it is almost unwalkable and you should definitely avoid it.

This area is located southward from the Old Town of Riga, along the right bank of the Daugava. Since the 14th century, Spikeri Quarter had a wharf for loading and unloading cargo ships. There are several warehouses. Today, history meets the modern, business district with an active cultural life. This old industrial quarter has become the home to the arts and offices. The quarters' pride is the Spikeri Concert Hall - a building used by the chamber orchestra "Sinfonietta Riga" and the choir "The Latvian Radio Choir". This quarter has also a dark history. During World War II, here was located the Riga ghetto. Today, the Riga Ghetto and Latvian Holocaust Museum is located here.
