Best buying experience I've had in quiet long time, the people who work this place are as interesting as antiques. Quality, interesting stock and sensibly priced. This place is worth well visit if you close by. Definitely will come again, when next time in Riga

Even though we didn't buy anything, this shop is lovely. There are several statues and paintings that seem pretty high-end. I didn't look at the prices, but I bet they were high and portrayed the craftsmanship in the works. There was one bust in particular of a woman with a very pointed expression that caught my eye. In addition, there was a lonely statuette of Sappho that I absolutely loved. All in all, an atmospheric shop with several treasures to be marveled at.

On holiday in Riga, Latvia in late June 2014. We always look and visit antique shops as we collect Karl Ens porcelain birds. On this occasion we went to Doma Antikvariats shop at Smilsu lela 8,Riga 1050, Latvia purely to browse the items on display. The shop displays high quality products covering paintings, china, antique medals and other items. They had Karl Ens bird figurines on display about which I have over the years collecting become quite knowledgeable. The Karl Ens ceramic markings they clearly knew a lot about. I asked the store owner about the origins of a dog figurine which was not what I thought and she in turn was equally puzzled but was determined to research on my behalf and identify the German manufacturer. She took my email address and on returning home to the UK I found a lengthy history of the company and its ceramic mark. It was astounding that the shop owner had spent the time in advising me on the subject to no financial advantage. This is service in the true sense.
