Art Nouveau in Riga: a great discovery

After having done similar Art Nouveau tours in Barcelana, Brussels and Viena, I highly recommend the walking tour I did in Riga. I did the tour with Gunta, and although it was a guided tour just for me, she explained so many things about the buildings and architects of this period and about Latvian and Riga history that I had... We arrived by cruise ship and walked directly to Smile Line in order to catch the 10 AM walking tour. Our guide was Tatjana B., who gave us a thorough overview of all the old town sites interspersed with informative commentary. Had plenty of time leftover to explore interiors on our own and to see the Art Nouveau area. Had... More

We were in Riga on a cruise ship and did a two hour walking tour with Smile Line. They are easy to find with their yellow umbrellas and scarves in the main square. For only 12 euros, we had a great tour around Riga. There were only six of us in the group and we loved our guide Inge. When... More

Smile Line Day Tours was recommended by our hotel and didn't disappoint. This was a quality tour from start to finish and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a walking tour of Riga. Our guide, Inga picked us up at our hotel and walked us over to the office to buy tickets. As luck would have it, our... More

Selga made our tour in Riga unique! She gave us a perfect tour to Riga old city, a really lively insight in history, related to her personal experiences in the years past! Her restaurant tips were superb! So if you really want to make the most out of your tour in Riga, ask for Selga! She's great

We visited the beautiful city of Riga with the guide of Ms. Mudita. Ms. Mudita speaks very good German and has a lot of messages. Walking with her, it was a great pleasure - is very fast and could hardly keep up with the group behind her - cheerful and caring group. Unfortunately, we were not on the upcoming concert... More

We had Juanis as a tour guide. We did the trip to Sigulda. Juanis was very friendly and the tour was very informative, Juanis spoke great English. We were picked up from our hotel and walked to the tour office to pay. From there we got in the car and headed out to Sigulda. First stop was the bobsleigh. I... More

This was a good tour of the central old town of Riga. The guide was good and she answered a range of questions we had about life in Riga and Latvia more generally.

A wonderful experience. My flight arrived late so I missed the group tour - but Edite in the Smile Line office found me a private tour guide for 18 euros. He was a student, teacher, musician, entrepreneur, farmer (Pietr - I may spell the name wrong) and gave me some insight and color into not only the history but also... More
