A three floor museum with different collections. A place that could be visited by families as it is not large and quite divers. Pay attention to the very nice view of the market that you will get at the 3rd floor. Moreover the halls by them self are pieces of art.

As a family of older (teenage) children and much younger (toddler) children we were enthusiastic about our visit to this museum....... We have a keen interest in art and design so after a day of sightseeing and Christmas markets we thought we would spend a few hours inside later in the day. The museum has a 'assistance' button at the... More

Although Riga's famous for its Art Nouveau, this 19 cent edifice is an outstanding example of Venetian Renaissance. It's located opposite the biggest Dom Church on the Dom Sq, right in the very center of Old town. Just like the exterior, the Bourse museum has a stunning interior with gilded surfaces and artificial marble, which make it look palace like.... More

We swept inside on a chilly day to take in art works we had read were there: a self-portrait by Rembrandt and a Degas. Unfortunately we felt as if we shouldn't have asked about them since they were not on view. The person in the ticket booth had very poor English and we gave up trying to communicate. The map/guide... I only visited the exhibits on the third and fourth floors. The Europeann art was beautiful, although I only recognized the names of two artists: Durer and Rodin. The fourth floor is also beautiful interior design. The exhibit of Oriental art on the third floor was also extrordinary.

This is a splendid building and well worth having a look at. The pricing system for the art gallery is rather unusual but this said the fees are reasonable. We saw the Leo Bakst (1866 –1924) exhibits. He was a Russian painter, scene and costume designer. He was a member of the Sergei Diaghilev circle and the Ballets Russes. Also... More

The museum houses a great collection of Western Paintings on the top floor and an impressive display of Oriental pieces, including clothes, sculptures from Egypt, India, Africa, and even a mummy. The temporary exhibitions were enjoyable as well. Overall, it's worth the admission ticket.

The museum is located in a beautifully restored building of Riga Stock Exchange; it is worth visiting even if you are not particularly interested in arts. The collection is not huge, but good; the museum also always has a couple of exhibitions on display (this summer these are artworks of Leo Bakst and Nicholas Roerich).

Good collection housed in impressive renovated stock exchange building. Check out the statuary representing various trqades on the exterior, and the lovely rose marble inside.
