Gorgeous inside!

We got stupidly cheap tickets for the Ballet. Like €7 each and it was really good! Neither of us had been before and just to go inside was a beautiful treat!

I was not able to attend a show, but the exterior is certainly magnificent architecture, located on the edge of the historic town, and in the midst of the park.

The opera is right in the park which even makes it more beautiful because of all the nature from the park. The surrounding is so pretty and very welcoming

Went to see Macbeth and Aida. I got excellent experience and great seats support that - really enjoy atmosphere. As I am not big expert - I share my personal emotion - I really liked!

Went to see the 'Swan Lake': great seats at superb prices!!!! Highly recommended if you love dance and wish to watch a ballet for only 5 Euro :-) :-) !!!! The quality of the Latvian National Ballet company was slightly disappointing though....

We were a group of 32, mostly pensioners on an opera tour to the Verdi Festival. We saw 5 different operas. I was expecting good provincial opera and was surprised at the very high standard of performance. Three operas were what could be called traditional settings, one was "Regi-Teatre" style (Macbeth) and one was acceptably up-dated to circa 1918 (Il... More

Went last night to Verde's Trovatore in the June season. Gorgeous theatre and a charming space. Incredibly cheap tickets in comparison to UK. Worth going for the experience even if opera is not your thing.

Was there on May 21, the new performance was presented. I am sure that it is really new sight on the opera's performance. Libretto is fine, the voices are chosen very good. I will be the for my next time in Riga. Separately, need to mention the opera building. It is very nice and comfortable. strictly recommend visiting.

If you're in Riga, one of the most cultural capitals of the world, and you're willing to try more than just walking around and sightseeing, then you just have to try the Latvian National Opera. I was fortunate enough that they had a pretty full schedule the week I visited, so I took advantage of as many events as I... More
