This was an amazing and rewarding trip through Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and then ending in Helsinki Finland. Valdis took care of us every step of the way - guiding the city tours and the nature walks, driving us though all of the countries including the ferry trip across to Helsinki. He was great company as well as being incredibly informative about the history and current culture of the countries we were travelling through. I learnt so much on this trip and felt really immersed in the lifestyle and culture of these amazing countries! Valdis was a thoughtful guide who really took care of us, including extra touches like booking ahead for dumplings at a restaurant so they were ready for us when we arrived!

Our 9 day Baltic Impressions 9 day tour ran smoothly. Guide Janis Liekmanis is a standout with his knowledge, humour, personality and organisational skills despite some people changing their itinerary and not turning up on time. Born Lativian, he speaks fluent English and German (and some others too). Cannot recommend him highly enough for making this trip such a success. So important for a trip that covers the 3 Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The trip started with a small tour of Ogre city center and continued along the Ogre river. After a short break we went hiking in the Blue Hills National park till the Dubkalnu quarry. The smell of pine trees brought back childhood memories, while the refreshing waters of the quarry helped to relax before heading back. We had many lively conversations with the tour guide, who was very attentive and adjusted the pace of the hike to my needs. I highly recommend this trip! It will be interesting to have it also in the winter and try skiing in the Blue Hills park.

We (4 adults aged 32 - 76 travelling from the UK) went on a private 8 day tour through Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania starting and finishing in Tallinn. Valdis is a fantastic logistical organiser and gave us a really smooth private tour through the Baltics, even with all the extras needed during Covid. Valdis made it all very easy for us, even booking and taking us for our PCR tests required for returning to the UK. He is very responsive; adapting the tour to our interests (wildlife and history), he is flexible, easy to get hold of, a good laugh, knowledgeable, passionate about nature and being in the outdoors. We had very wet weather and strong winds for August, but that didn't stop Valdis giving us a fantastic tour. When we had problems with one of our hotels, Valdis was quick to respond and find a solution - we ended up being moved to a much better apartment (!). Valdis did some of the city and sight tours himself and at other places organised for really excellent colleagues to take us round. We'd go with Baltic Nature Travel again and may ask Valdis to take us hiking next time. Thank you Valdis and Baltic Nature Travel!

I enjoyed the hiking tour in the Beberbeķi-Skulte regions of Riga. The route was mainly through the forest, so this is a great opportunity to get away from the city bustle and daily routine and to spend a few hours in nature. The tour guide Valdis is very friendly and he has a lot to tell about the area. I am looking forward to the next tour and recommend joining it.

A great experience from booking to the end. Valdis was very responsive and helpful to our inquires. The information on line was very comprehensive.
The hike it’s self was exactly as described. Valdis really knows his stuff and explains all points of interest, even showing old photos and videos bringing the historical places alive. Rather than just sticking to the main path we often took diversions to get better views or to take in another hidden gem such as the abandoned bob sleigh track.
A great guide who provides a 5 star service. I will happily use Baltic nature travel again and highly recommend Valdis services.

Valdis designed a tour for me on the dates I wanted and starting and ending where I wanted with the level of accommodation I requested. He was patient and timely with his responses when I asked for changes. he offered alternatives and options and designed a tour I'm really looking forward to. Thanks Valdis!

For a person who has never been to hikes and is new in Riga this hike was a blessing and a brings a refreshment in life. Our guide was friendly , well informed and knows about nature. The journey through forest , roaming around lakes and watching planes taking off and land is breathtaking. I wish Baltic Nature team my very best and looking forward for next one.

Enjoyed the company and trek. 15Km trek in Beberbeki (excuse the spelling). Despite living here many years learnt something new and found some new spots to share with my kids.

Absolutely incredible tour by visiting two castles, Segulda and Turaida on December 17 with Valdis. Even during the Covid timing the tour was magnificent to learn more about history of this incredible and lovely country. Valdis was knowledgable, friendly and lovely. The tour started with ruins of Segulda castle and finished with visiting Turaida. This time of the year with less people and some uncertainties it was magical to wonder around the castles in more tranquil environment and learn more about history of Latvia. Thank you very very much.
