To clarify their confusing website, anything above the locker room floor is only for clients who book a treatment (massage, etc). Hence, the rooftop pool, relaxation rooms, etc, are only included if you book a treatment option. If you’re just going for the facilities (23 euros if staying at the Radisson), then you’re limited to the pool and saunas on the bottom floor (mixed gender). You must wear a bathing suit; no nudity permitted. American Express credit cards are not accepted; only Visa, MasterCard, and UnionPay local Latvian cards are accepted.

It is a 5-star spa that is very clean and cosy. For Radisson hotel guests a special price for 23 Euro (35 Euro original) for a bathing area, which has a pool and several saunas, the jacuzzi is perfect. Highly recommend spending here a few hours. The opened pool is only for visitors with procedures.

Whole Spa experience was great. A warm welcome form the receptionist who showed me around . The facilities are clean, atmosphere - relaxing. I chose the Mankind treatment, I felt relaxed and energized after it. Great value for the price. Before treatment I could spend 1 hour at Thermal suite with open-air pool, differents saunas and relaxation area, after treatment therapist guided me to other relaxation room where they serve tea, healthy snacks.
I would highly recommend

I was brought to the spa area upstairs with several steaming rooms and small pleasant heated outdoor pool. Very relaxing and quiet atmosphere.

However, the main reason of my visit was to have a stress free massage done by a professional person. I chose 80 minutes long aromatherapy massage. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst, if not the worst massage I ever had. I have asked for a stronger pressure, but the lady performing the massage lacked any basic technique and was switching from barely touching me to strong pressure that caused her arms shake, she was doing left and right sides differently, and even forgot to massage one hand ‍️.

I did mention this on reception when leaving, and they indeed acknowledged that she was new, but I was not offered any refund or at least a voucher. It feels like I threw 120 euros out of the window… Please be aware of this possible situation and make sure to ask for someone experienced!!

I went to manicure and pedicure. The lady who was doing manicure had 1.5 cm long artificial nails which broke gloves which she was wearing and she was providing service in broken gloves. Service in broken gloves at such place! Of course in addition to this her nails did not really let her to do the procedure properly. In Japanese manicure one step was fully missed and one was done incorrectly. Pedicure with nail polish which should take 2 hours was done in 1 hour 10 minutes without any proper scrubbing and cream. I also got some small bruises on the toes which I never had before when pedicure was done in other places. Very very poor service and hygiene level.

Dear Lena, Thank you for taking the time to write the review about the ESPA Riga. I am very sorry to read that we did not meet your expectations when you were here for your manicure and pedicure treatment. At the same time I would like to ensure you that the specialist who did your treatment is with a long working experience and receives also a lot of positive comments from our loyal customers. The artificial nails doesn’t mean that the specialist is not professional. Regarding pedicure treatment length, the time spent on treatment can vary depending on client’s feet condition. If client is doing pedicure regularly the treatment time can be shorter then in price list. Your feedback regarding hygiene level has been seriously discussed in detail with our manicure specialist in order to prevent such situations in the future. Best regards, Aiga Lapiņa Spa Director

Me and my husband chose to spend our first date after our daughters birth at ESPA Rīga. I don't regret it. There couldn't be better place to unwind and energize, enjoy tranquility. Totally fabulous. The treatments, pool area, the lunch, the team. Everything. Thank you so much, will definitely come back.

I had a massage at the SPA and I usually tip very well the masseuse. This is the first time in my life I refused to tip the lady. Her attitude epitomizes everything wrong with this SPA: stuck-up, unfriendly, unhappy personnel and the cherry is: incompetent. The catch is that they taught them the manners but forgot the substance. I am ok with stuck up manners as long as the lady live up to the expectation. Not here. The masseuse was a debutante, you can hear her breathing heavily, her hands going all directions...worst massage for long time. These guys are not paid lot of money and they are asking too much from them...

Moreover, It is impossible that one ranks this SPA excellent...while the facilities are new and hardly used (not so many members or customers), the above (applies at the recepetion, in the locker room, etc) makes the experience un-relaxing/uncomfortable and absolutely NOT worth the money. Someone is obvioulsy paying for these all excellent reviews...

I was visiting Riga to spent new years there and also it was a surprise trip for my girlfriend. We were staying at the Wellton centrum hotel and spa which like the name suggests does have its own spa. As i was planning to propose to my girlfriend on new years eve i wanted to book a luxurious and pampering day which we would do together. As the Wellton centrum hotel and spa could not offer a couples treatment room i decided to get in touch with ESPA in Riga. Instead of booking online i emailed directly to state that i wanted a couples treatment room for the autumn spa package they offered. At 115 Euros per person this was not cheap, especially as we had a free spa at our hotel however i couldn't wait to surprise my girlfriend with this package.

ESPA sent me a confirmation letter confirming the booking and also that it would be with a male and female therapist which is normal given we are a couple. Upon arrival at ESPA we were checked in and began enjoying a delicious lunch. We then entered the spa, enjoyed the thermal pool, saunas and steam room however as we had already done this at our own hotel it was mostly for the massages that we were looking forward to. The therapists arrived 5 minutes late for our allotted time, and it was also 2 females which was not what my reservation confirmed. After taking the lift my girlfriend and i were separated onto different floors, initially i thought this was to discuss our requirements but it quickly became apparent that the treatment rooms for for single occupancy, not the couples room i had booked. We advised the therapists that we had booked a couples room and they advised that they had no knowledge of this and that if we wanted a couples room they would need 15 minutes to set this up and it would reduce the time of our treatments. Naturally we were not happy with this as that would mean that instead of the 90 minutes we had booked we would instead get a lot less than we were expecting. As we were not happy to continue without a couples room we changed and spoke to the manager at reception. She apologised and confirmed that they were aware that i had requested a couples room (they went back and checked the email i sent them to confirm this) and they apologised and said it would not be possible. If i had been told this before booking, or upon arrival at the spa i would not have continued with the package we had booked. The manager did provide me with a full refund however this is besides the point as for me they had ruined something which i had planned as part of a VERY special day and also this caused an argument and disappointment between myself and my girlfriend. So to sum up ESPA, they let me down and i would never make another reservation or visit again. I asked for a very simple request which was confirmed and they did not provide this so how can i give anything more than 1 star.

My husband and I went to Riga this August and decided to visit the ESPA. We were happy to find this place as nice as we hoped it would be. Proffessional staff greating us at the frontdesk, showing us around before we spent an hour in different saunas and a pool with an open roof an viev of the blue sky. Afterwards we relaxed a bit before we each got a wonderful massage. The place is highly reccomended! Enjoy it!

I paid around 30eur for the spa only, no treatment. It was a waste of money, there was only one pool, one whirlpool, two saunas, and one hotbath. I was not allowed to enter the top floor where they have more saunas, rest area, etc.. I thought it was a joke when staff told me " sorry no access to the roof top spa, only if you buy treatments...". Very dissappointed, i have to rate this spa low due to the fact that the spa only is just overpriced.

Experience might be different if you add treatments.

Dear Andyrany 2012! Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback on your recent visit to ESPA Riga. Our pricing has been carefully set to be comparable to that of similar properties in the area and we feel the value given is in line with the central location and extensive facilities available. To fully enjoy the Spa experience and to take benefit from all of the Spa facilities we always recommend to our guests to book at least a one our ESPA facial or body treatment which provides the guest with full access to the 6th floor level and enabling time to relax and enjoy the heat and wet experiences. We value your comments and feedback and we will review them with our management team as our aim is always to strive to improve our guest service and exceed expectations. Thank you once again to share your feedback.
