Attended Rammstein concert here on 06 August.

Everything about the place was so well organised and very well planned.

Latvia police were amazing and so were event staff.

The park held around 12,000 people no problem and there was a garage nearby to buy food and drinks after the show.

Best in the Summer months, this is the best park near central Riga. It is a great place for families with children of all ages to visit. Away from the usual tourist trail, it can be reached using the No.19 trolley bus, No.40 bus or as I like to do, take a leisurely stroll from the Old Town along the Daugava esplanade and along the walkway below the bridge ( you get some excellent views of the city ). It takes about 25 minutes to walk or you could cycle if you prefer.
The park itself is big, with lots of playground activities for all children, there is a small beach on the banks of the Daugava, which is manned by lifeguards, so you can safely paddle/swim in the river. There are also some volley ball courts, a small library ( Summer ), feed the ducks and plenty of walkways where can also cycle or roller blade. There is also a small cafe which serves a limited amount of food ( burgers, chips, sandwiches, snacks, ice cream, etc. ) Grab yourself a coffee, beer or glass of wine and sit and enjoy the river views. Also situated onsite is Riga Wake, where you can enjoy water skiing and wake boarding. Well worth a visit if you want to get out of the city centre. As I said before it's best during the summer months, as apart from the playground, most of the other things will close for the could Winters.
