Best freshwater seaside beach anywhere. Swimming 5 months a year. Midnight swimming and mountain biking in July.

It's an easy hike in a pleasant environment. There are wooden trails in some parts of the park which makes it even more interesting. You can read about the nature at several stops or simply enjoy the sound of woodpeckers.

The nature park is full of old beautiful trees and good trails. Easy to access with a bike and by foot, even with a good stroller. If you go pass the woods, you get to a lovely beach that is way less crowded than Jurmala. I would recommend this beach over the actual Jurmala beach any day! It's simply a quiet happy place compared to the tourist crowded end of the beach. The museum in the woods is worn down but with under 1 euro for the entrance fee it's fun little stop on the way.

We had cycled from Riga and enjoyed our first natural stop at the Ragakapa Park. I am sure there will be plenty of interesting trails to follow, and we felt a sense of discovery on the small paths/trails we followed there. We happened upon the open air museum for the local fishing trade, it was interesting to see the history through the years and is worth a stop to see the recreation of the buildings where people will have lived and the many artefacts from the fishermen. It also had a small play area for kids. A nice place.
