This Lutheran church s widely used for concerts. It is recently
peraired and looks very nice. U can easily reach it by a car or
electric train from Riga, ca.25 km from here. It is also close to the
sea, 5 min walking distance. There is a nice care nearby called
Dukats, with excellent cakes and sweets.

Open doors, lovely interior, services twice a week. Often the concerts played in the Dome of Riga are given here, too.

Actually ordinary church if you not know about history. History made it amazing. Placed just near city council it was shelter for man who hide from Soviet prosecution for years after 2WW. Of course finally church was take away from parish and served as museum for long time. Local Soviet administration use this building even for Communist rituals, like place for Communist oath of Youth organizations (how it was to give oath for atheistic regime inside the church). So not the architecture made this building great but history.

The church was closed when we visited the area but the outside is still worth a look. Set just by the woodland walk.

We went on Sunday, the first day of the organ music festival. Highly recommended event! 15 performers in only one day!

On our trips to Jūrmala we always visit this church restored to it’s former beauty. About ten weeks in the summer at 6pm there are organ concerts with either a singer or another instrument. Well worth attending!
