I found the Tartu Old City highly interesting. There is plenty of beautiful old buildings and very nice restaurants. The prices at the restaurants are very low compared to the very nice quality.

Tartu is not too big, neither is it a small town. There is lot to do for different interests, museums, historical buildings, plenty of restaurants and pubs. For me the charm of Tartu is in its special character as a students town, having 2 unversities...More

Sweet to walk through and most of the year the young students everywhere make this a lovely place to enjoy. Plenty of good cafes and sights of older buildings.LOve the colour schemes.

Safest town we have ever visited. So clean and very liveable for the locals. A culture all itself. A quiet stroll or groups around cafes and the center. What a university town should be like.

Tartu is a pretty city. It is young and full of live, thanks of its students. I really liked the estonian swing and its old-quarter with the streets all named of a soup.

Well, it's smaller than Tallinn's Old Town, just couple of streets in the center of Tartu, but it's nice and clean.

My third visit to Tartu and I love it more each time. There are so many places to visit. I have visited during 3 very different seasons and there will always be interesting exhibitions or festivals.

This is the area where a medieval city once stood, but wars and fires, particularly the 'Great Fire' in 1775, destroyed it. Most of what you see now is its replacement - a neoclassical ensemble from the 18th and early 19th centuries. The narrow pedestrian...More

Tartu is my favourite place to visit when in Estonia. Lovely little cafeterias, (often English is spoken), big shopping centers, peaceful river surroundings to go walking. Any time of the year!
