Not far from the Old City, Rotermann Quarter offers some unique modern architecture, design studios, and other intriguing shops. There are restaurants, cafes, and museums to enjoy. We were surprised with how compact the area is. While the area is attracting younger folks, we were not grabbed by it, but it is worth an hour or so walk with more time if you are intrigued by one of the museums.

Totally underwhelmed by this particular area, despite hearing rave reviews from other people.
Most of the facilities don’t open till 10 in the morning, summer 11 bars, don’t even open until two added to that lot of them close early. There doesn’t seem to be any defined centre to this particular quarter or no communal entrance area to tell you where you are. All all in all, we thought it was rather poor.

Beautiful renovated area in an industrial loft style. Lively and very graphic streets where it is good to stroll through the narrow streets. Everything has a trendy, artist style, a bit bobo and full of charm.

Visited Tallinn after 2 years of pause on travelling. This place is nicely rebuild in that time. Very nice place now indeed, lots of nice shops and restaurants snd the place is rebuild so that its still looking kinda old but in modern way. I really like the look and feeling in this place now.

Really interesting. Beatiful place with good options for lunch or take a breath to drink a coffe in a quite an eclectic ambiance.
It is small, but with many new stores under construction.
Worth a visit.

Great area, with plenty of shops cafes and shopping mall. We walked through the area as we were heading to the Estonian burger factory restaurant. The Rotterman area is around 20 minute walk from the old town so a little out of the way if you aren’t staying there but it’s definitely worth a visit.
Walking through there felt like a more modern updated version of the old town but still with tonnes of character.

It’s the modern part of Tallinn. Nice advanced architecture mixed with the charming ancient style. Cool bars and shopping areas are around. Can’t wait till it’s completely built.

A really cool area with cafes, restaurants and bars. Very instagramable! It’s a nice contrast from the old town. Definitely worth a visit to find a nice cafe and a walk around. They have done a great job of maintaining the factory aesthetic to create this into a cool area.

A vibrant and modern area of Tallinn, worth a walk through if you disembark from the ferry terminal to walk up to the Old town which is the main attraction for many tourists. Its a stark contrast to the old town with many hip cafes & restaurants but we really enjoyed our short walk through Rotermann Quarter.

We found the Rotermann Quarter as a heart of Tallinn. Here old industrial buildings has been magnificently-restored and serves as home to a number of shops and restaurants, as well as an active cultural scene. given new functions stand next to modern architecture. We had the chance to walk around and look at buildings, a factory tower and enjoy the artworks displayed around the area. You will also find several good restaurants and watering holes.
