This is a historic pharmacy. The pharmacy is one of the oldest still operating pharmacies in Europe. It having been in business since the 15th century. Now has become a popular tourist spot in Tallinn.
There is a small museum inside the pharmacy, displaying antique pharmacy equipment and historical materials. Well worth a visit.

The oldest continously working pharmacy, it seems! It is free to enter, very nice th at they have the museum telling the History of the place. They also have some examples of things which used to be used in the manufacturing of medicine back then such as frogs and bats. You can spend 10-20 minutes here reading the information on walls.

A small museum and actual pharmacy close to the town square. Fascinating place to visit bearing in mind its ancestry. Not huge but enough foe 20 minutes and children can learn from exhibits . I did and Im 70!! Don't pass it by

The world's oldest continually working pharmacy - 600 years and counting. The counter area with the wooden cabinets and drawers reminded me of old British pharmacies I had experienced 50 years ago.
Really interesting displays and exhibits through in the far room. Beautifully painted wooden ceiling too.

This is apparently the oldest pharmacy (or apothecary) in Tallinn - founded in the 15th century. And for someone like me with a chemistry background, it was fascinating! The mini-museum in the same building as the pharmacy had a lot of interesting exhibits and explained the history behind it all. To see some of the things that they used to think were beneficial to health - wood louse infusion, dried deer penises, 'medicines' containing arsenic (the list goes on!) was both interesting and amusing.

Checking this museum out will not take you long since it has only two rooms. It is located in one corner of the town hall square and might be a little hard to find at first. This shop has been in business for hundreds of years and in fact it still is! One can buy modern day medicines as well as bottles filled with more "old school" tinctures and what not. There is also a small exhibition that one can look at. All in all this is a small but interesting place worth a look. Since it is free one has nothing to lose by visiting.

This was a wonderful place to visit, a working pharmacy but in the back room were all sorts of old things, including bleached dog faeces, burnt bees, pickled earthworms, dried toads, all which had been used as remedies. There was no charge to go in this beautiful place, absolutely fascinating, and right in the main square too.

You should be more specific in your statement. The pharmacy in Tallinn is ONE of the oldest pharmacies in Europe, but the oldest in Europe and around the world is in Franciscan Monastery in Dubrovnik. Thank you for your understanding.

This is reputed to be the oldest pharmacy in Europe, and it certainly looks as though little has changed over the years. It wouldn’t look out of place in any of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Interestingly it is still operating today, so as well as going inside to look at the displays of old remedies and bottles of dried toads, you can buy an aspirin as well. Well worth a visit
