The church of the Holy Spirit originates from the 13th century, although several reconstructions and restaurations have been made. Notheworthy is the clock at the side wall next to the entrance. In the choir is a splendid altar piece by Bernt Notke dating from 1483. The door to the stairs leading to the pulpit is richly decorated. Some very old... More

I think what's most memorable with this one is that beautyful wall clock. Don't forget to visit marzipan and Kalev chocolate shop just next to it.

The people of Tallinn are so proud of their medieval Old Town, as they should be. Parts of this building existed about 100 years before Columbus discovered America. The interior is very interesting; do take the time to go inside and look around.

Located centrally in the old town the Church of the Holy Spirit is a gorgeous 14th century Gothic construction. Tallinn's oldest timepiece is located on the exterior of the building and makes the building 'unmissable' and a popular photographic opportunity. The carved wooden interior and details make a visit inside worthwhile.

This church is now a museum of religious art. You will see a gilded altarpiece with medium-small figures representing the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. You will see the story of creation and sin and redemption on panels on the galleries (this became a Protestant church, with seating in galleries as well as in pews on the main... More

For Eur 1.50, you enter this ancient church, which served as house of worship for the local Poor House for a long time. For whatever reasons of its site or the budget, it seems to have been built sideways. There is no transept (no room) and the altar occupies only one half of the nave, on the left, so that... More

Very peaceful church with some excellent artwork and informative displays. Interesting to see Royal Navy flag flying alongside memorial boards to the Allied lives lost defending Estonia from Russia in 1918 - something I didn't know about. Entrance fee only 1.5 euros. Definitely worth a stop on your stroll round Tallin.

This is a pretty church near the center of old town, and it's got an interesting history! The clock has some carvings dating from the 17th century or earlier, and it's seen so much.
