The Dome Cathedral is built on the uppermost square of Vyshgorod. The Russian naval commander Samuel Karlovich Greig and the Russian navigator and admiral Ivan Fyodorovich Krusenstern, whose trip around the world lasted 3 years, are buried there. They get wreaths from the Russian embassy here. Very glad there's now Krusenstern Square in the port of Noblessner. One Sunday I came to this cathedral to hear organ music. In Catholic cathedrals, the first thing I look at is a mosaic on the windows and an organ.

Beautiful church and the walk up the tower is well worth it. The climb up is 143 steps. The space is narrow but not too bad. There is a rope you can hold on to for support. The views are breathtaking from the top.
The exterior is white washed and beautiful in an austere way.
The interior of the church is very different, many coats of arms.

An interesting looking church inside, really liked the pastel blues and pale colours that it was painted in. Ornamentation was very grand, but also quite minimal. A cool church, just not the grandest I've visited

Not far from the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral lies the oldest church in Tallinn. It is not as beautiful as the fore-mentioned Catherdal, but it's just a block away, and it's free, so it's worth a short visit.

Great little church with a lovely pipe organ (which you won't see in a Russian Orthodox church). The interior is worth a walk around. Very peaceful place to sit and admire.

Cathedral of St Mary the Virgin aka The Dome Church is very interesting and unique. I was glad I struggled up the tower as there was a guy there who explained what could be seen from the excellent vantage point. He also showed us the huge old bells and told us their story. Well worth the climb!

This unimpressive church is more of a museum rather than a church. Otherwise, there's no way to explain the entry fee.

We walked off the cruise ship and into Tallin in 15 mins. The city was nothing like I expected - very old and historic. We visited the cathedral and it was beautiful inside. Lots to see

If you love small historical cathedrals this is a must-see. Only €2 entry. Stunning wood carvings, layers of history, family crests all over the walls and a fabulous alter.
