Seegi Maja (the Almshouse) is known to be the oldest building in Parnu. It was built in 1658 on the remains of the old almshouse of the Holy Spirit’s Church as a shelter to the sick and the cripples. According to a research on the wooden raft under the basement of the building, the old almshouse dates back to 1250-1350. The building was restored to look the way it did in the 17th century. It houses the St. Peterburg Hotel and the restaurant Seegi Maja.

Nice old building

Looking very ancient one from aside, so interesting place to look at when walking nearby in the old city centre.

30e down the drain. Pärnu is full of excellent and cheap restaurants so try to avoid this one. Food was suspicious and not tasty.

Looked promising from the outside. Food overpriced and not good at all. Potatoes to go with main dish are billed as extra (didn't see this mentioned on menu) at an extortionate rate and were really bad. When we complained, the waitress suddenly couldn't speak English any more.

It was a terrible experience! Very expensive, food was poor, there were no service at all and the bill was wrong. I can not recommed this to any Pärnu visitors. There are many good restaurants in Pärnu, but this is NOT one of them. Only good point is that the house looks nice, but there was a bad smell inside.
