This rather large, dark statue is located next to St Anne's Church. Apparently Mickiewicz was a famous poet. It's worth stopping to admire before you visit the church a few metres away.

Wonderful sculpture, well worth the effort to view. Just next to the two famous Gothic churches and the bridge leading to the Republic of Uzupis. Both Poland and Lithuania claim him as their national poet.

It's not the best statue of Mickiewicz, there's better even in Gliwice (Upper Silesia), not to mention Warsaw. But the poet, his art and the story of his life are worth knowing.
