Park was amazing and enormous. Only let down was the toilets- chemical toilets when it is such a big area and when there are places to eat and drink isn't really good enough.
We saw a woodpecker, which was really special.

For Vilnius city folk, this is the biggest. most accessible and practical park to visit. Massive in scope, with tons of forest area and walkways to escape from the central plaza and green. Though beware, the wooded forest is known to have many ticks, which do carry dangerous diseases like Lyme and the much more scary encephalitis. So always check for ticks after visiting the wooded areas, and take the appropriate steps if necessary.
The central green is a common place for group yoga , running competitions and various outdoor fitness activities. Located in different parts of the park are various sports courts and fields as well as restrooms and eating kiosks/restaurants.

This is a very big park very near the center of Vilnius in the end of M. K. Čiurlionio gatvė surrounded by the river Neris on three sides and the motor way A1 on one side is a real good place for recreation. Here you can stroll for hours in the forest and breath fresh air or play on the big grass arena or rent roller blades, bicycles, bicycle cars and going around on the small asphalt roads. In this arena they have every summer very big traditional chorus concerts and festivals, but also concerts of famous pop stars as Lady Gaga, Sting etc. Behind the big arena you’ll find a small amusement park for the children and also a restaurant. Behind the arena on the other side of the street you’ll also find the old Botanical Garden and a small Zoo. It’s a little bit hard to find the entrance to the garden in the fence but it’s really worth a visit. I think it’s only open during the warm part of the year and here you can enjoy the songs from the birds and the beauty of all flowers in a calm and relaxing place far away from all street sounds and in the shadow of the TV tower on the other side of the river Neris. Among all, they use to have a very nice tulip exhibition during springtime and the systematic field has always something blooming and here you can find several representatives from many flower families. The greenhouses look like they need some maintenance, but the old palm house has become a scene from which you can listen some summer concerts. This garden is a department of the new big University Botanical Garden 10 km outside Vilnius. This park is really worth a visit and it is almost in the middle of town.

This park is located right next to the Neris river and covers a lot of ground.
You can take seemingly endless walks through the park or even ride your bicycle - usually there are lanes for pedestrians as well as cyclists.
There are lots of different routes to take and off road paths across the the park. I liked those leading to the riverside best.
Moreover, in the heart of the park you will find various food trucks, other restaurants and toilets. All over the park numerous portable toilets have been placed if you need to go.
All in all, worth visiting when you're in the area.

It is just a large out door stage but with unforgettable history event. There were 35thousand people gathering here to sing their national anthem. It was also the point of human chain from Vilnius to Tallinn to request freedom from the former Soviet Union. When I stood in the lawn facing the stage I felt the power of music and the power of people. Only from a scenery point of view this place may not be worth the visit but with the imagination this is certainly a great place to visit.

This is a good place to walk, jog, or play a game of ultimate frisbee. I'm not sure it's a must-see when you're in Lithuania despite the historical significance of the location (meeting place for anti-communists). It's a very nice, green park. There are fun things for kids to do in the summer - bumper cars, bikes, roller skate rentals.

Nothing special - just crowds of people and nothing else. It is good for locals to spend some time but I do not recommend it for tourists - it is not worth your time.

I was recommended to visit this park by a local and it was definitely worthwhile. Good walk especially in the autumn. Plenty of activities as well if you’re into sport and a rather weird botanical garden. I got charged 2 tickets but I think it was because she assumed I wouldn’t be by myself and my Lithuanian is so bad I couldn’t correct her.

Vingis is more like a forest with paths rather than a park. It's very popular with runners, bikers. You can rent scooter, bikes, roller skates of just enjoy a relaxing walk here

Where to rent a bike, scooter, etc... In the park? Do you have any link? :)
Written April 28, 2019
It seems the nearest dealer of the bicycles to rent, is a little bit far away. Scooters are prohibited within the Park!
