The hill on which the tower stands, is open during the day and at the beginnen of the night. Whether dark or sunny outside, it's worth it to climb up the hill. Don't let others discourage you that it's a hard climb. It not very hard, it just goes uphill ;) Avoid the tower itself. I went inside and when... More

Beautiful tower structure; friendly smiles from the concierge and extremely cheap rate to go up and learn about the history of this historical structure and area. Loved seeing the view from the top but also enjoyed learning about the rich history Lithuania treasures and yet displays so well to the world.

This is a nice small hill north of the old town, just lovely. The walk up is easy, but the stones might get slippery when wet. The views are beautiful, with nice weather you can see the churches and beautiful architecture. This stroll is highly recommended after a traditional Lithuanian meal :)

Took the funicular up the hill on a very snowy day. Made the view all the better but wouldn't recommend walking up unless you're very fit or a masochist. 3 floors inside the tower and interesting views all around and you get a real sense of the history. This was our best "touristy" day - you must do this. Not... More

It's a bit of a hike to get up there and enjoy the view but well worth it. To make it up there walk carefully and keep an eye on where you put your feet but once up there the view is amazing. I've been back several times now and everyone is great. It's nice and peaceful to just walk... More

This Tower over looks the city of Vilnius. It is the ruins of a fortified castle above the later palace of the grand dukes. There isn't much left to it. I just went up there for the view and to take pictures. You can walk up a paved path up to the top or take a funicular train from behind... More

I hiked up the hill on a cold snowy day in January and the views at the top were spectacular. This historic tower is the major symbol of the city, so it is a must visit when touring Vilnius, you can still go inside where part has now become a museum, but also get up to the observation deck for... This place is easily accesible from the old town. It is worth to pay the ticket and climb the tower to the top from which you can see the whole city and enjoy some historic background of how the city was built

Not huge amount to see in the tower itself but moderately interesting. Bit of a trek up but certainly worth it for the views over the city.
