We had read about the great views from the top of the tower but when we visited earlier in February we were disappointed to find all the gates locked at the entrances at the bottom as it was closed for restoration to the footpaths. You are able to walk all the way around at the bottom on the pavement but... More

The best way to see the whole city and get a feeling on how it is make and situated. All the stories will be alive when you will see the way (road) from the Done gates to the market square (Town hall square) and counting to the Cathedra. hope to the sunny and warm weather, so you can see more... This is a must-see while in Vilnius. The history is amazing, the whole look of the castle and the people who lived there. It over looks the city, the best view of Vilnius from up high. There is a lot of climbing stairs inside and out. I hate heights but didn't want to miss a thing, it was well worth... More

Perfect example of the IQ of nomenclature : some brainiac thought of brilliant idea to strip the hill of the trees that were holding the ground in place. No the castle is closed for safety. Honestly just looking at it, I would even come close to it, mud slide is just matter of time to happen

On my trips anywhere in the world if there's a castle I'll visit it , I'm interested in history and photography . So for me it was a must see place . We walked up the hill to get to the top where you can enjoy the panoramic views of Vilnius for free but if you want to go in... More

Beautiful Tower on top of the hill. it is located on the north of Vilnius City center. If was unfortunate for me there at that time since it was closed to public.

Looks cool especially from the three cross Hill. Unfortunately for renovation reasons we couldn't really go up and around. Still impressive tower. Check it at sundown when it turns more orange!

You can talk an hour trip to Gediminas Tower and back :) You can see the whole Vilnius from the tower, really stunning old town architecture, and on the other side corporate downtown.

Gediminas Tower which has been preserved, is the last remaining part of the Upper Castle in Lithuania’s capital city of Vilinius. Built by Gediminas, the Grand Duke of Lithuania, it was finally completed in 1409 and rebuilt in 1930. As it is based on the top of a hill it can be seen from many surrounding areas in central Vilinius.... More
