The best organized museum I have found to date in all of Lithuania! Exhibitions on two levels, plenty of money to see, very interactive, exhibits in four languages, very clean, excellence staff, and lots to see. Provides an excellence history of money from primitive times to current. How coins are minted, an interactive coin press is provided for the visitor's use. There is a hall dedicated to the money of Lithuania, from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, to the occupation of both the Soviets and Germans, to present day. You can even find out how much you are worth if you were made of gold, silver or platinum and take the results home with you! Fun and educational for the entire family and admission was free! Easy to locate on the corner of Gedimino Prospect and Totoriu gatve, about a block before the Vilnius Cathedral,

A cool and neat collection of local and foreign currencies with history to boot. It's a great little stop for anyone, as the displays are genuinely compelling and interesting to look at. I was really pleased with the 25 minutes or so I spent there, it doesn't require much time at all.

Thank you Bank of Lithuania and thanks to your lovely staff at the museum! I’ve learned more about the history of payments and money all over the world in two hours than I’ve learned in 60 years before and as an extra plus a lot of Lithuanian money history. The exhibition is very, very pedagogical done and the staff is very helpful and skillful. They also offer you handheld English audio guides that help you through the exhibition and can you believe, everything is free of charge. I’m very impressed that you can do so much in a so small area. I was also lucky to be witness to a World Record trying or Guinness record trying to build the ever biggest pyramid of money. I can strongly recommend a visit to this very good museum and I will come back, because I’ve still have something to look through. This is a must when you visit Vilnius.

Great exhibition, worth visiting (5 of 5). Unfortunately, the guard sitting there (10 November 2023, between 1600 and 1700 hrs., wearing a blue shirt) behaved like a comunist supervisor - rude, loud, unpleasant and definitely not happy with his job (0 of 5). The visitors seemed to disturb him in performing his duties. This should be improved.

Me and my girlfriend were passing by, when I noticed small sign above corner door - "Pinigų muziejus" (Money Museum). I decided to visit it on the next museums working day. At first she didn't wanted to go there, but after visiting, she didn't wanted to leave it. When we came we were greeted by a friendly mam from staff. First amusement came to us when there was NO entry FEE, and after a minute we were offered a FREE audio guide as well. There is a lot of things to see and to do. You can spend few hours on movies and interactive games, as well as exploring every corner of museum which is full of things to see.
You can check your price if you would be golden, You can explore different countries currencies, and lots lots more.
Now I am recommending it to every single friend.

I found this museum accidentally while i was taking a walk down to Gedimino prospect and ended up recommending it to everybody i know. Museums is very modern, informative and has various atractions for people of all ages - quizes, possibility to make your own coin or banknote or weight yourself and get to know how much worth you would be if made from platina, silver or gold. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. In this museum you really can learn a lot and get information using various technologies, so it's definitely worth visiting.

New, modern museum, opened in 2010. The museum is very well appointed compared to other museums in Vilnius. Expositions in five halls disclose the history of world currencies and banking, there are a lot of interactive educational tools, diferent historical films and games for adults and childs. The museum is situated on the corner of two main streets, it is stunning inside and museum guides are always ready to help... I really recommend to visit this museum.
I think, that this is one of the best museum I have ever been!!!

As a resident of Vilnius city, I must admit that Money Museum is my favourite. I visited it 3 times by now, each one was fun and amusing. The exhibition is really cool, staff really helpful and polite. What I like the most is modern technology they use to entertain the visitors.
PS it's free if charge.

What's your weight in gold worth? What is the currency of Norway? And why do we use bills and coins in the first place? For a former business/economics student this museum is one of the best. Newly renovated and interactive exercises gives this hidden gem the top grade. Entrance is for free and english audio-guide is available. Highly recommendable.
