About
Hot air balloon flights over Vilnius or Trakai. Unforgettable moments, emotions and moods. Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The Old Town of Vilnius is one of the largest survived medieval old towns in Northern Europe. In 1994 the Vilnius Old Town was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List because of its historical value and originality.

Booked a private 6 people hot air balloon flight over Kaunas. Guts of wind were quite strong but our pilot Valentas handled it with ease. He is very professional and has great sense of humour. Everyone in their team were great and very accommodating since the very start. They had a lovely surprise for us at the end of the flight (not gonna spoil it here). Overall, great experience! Everyone enjoyed it (including the kids). Thank you, Valentas and the team, for such an awesome evening!

This event starts at your hotel with a pick up from the company. You'll most likely stop at a few other hotels for other guests. The pilots will then make a determination if you will fly over the city of Vilnius or Trakae.

The flight itself will take about 1 hour from time of entry into the basket to landing.
The flight crews are cordial. The equipment seemed safe and maintained. There were several balloons used the day I took a voyage. I think there were too many people in our basket and it was cramped. I think that they should limit the amount of people per basket a little more for comfort. The views are superb. The pilot played with altitudes and speeds while telling us basic navigation and some geographical points below.

After a landing you walk out of the field to the meeting point and have a small ceremony with champagne. A certificate is given for each participant to prove their flight.

You will be walking in and on tall grass so dress appropriately.

The entire event took about 3-4 hours.

It was my first trip to Lithuania and there I had a wonderful hot air balloon flight. It was a birthday present from my lithuanian friend. Everything was magical! Treetops, tiny people waving to you and charming old town... Before the flight I was afraid very much because I have a fear of heights, but when we were in the sky all my fears disappeared. After the flight our pilot baptyzed us and gave a first flight sertificate. I can't wait for my second flight!

To fly the hot-air balloon was mine and my sister's dream! And when we got our parents into this adventure, it became a highlight of our family trip to Lithuania!
What can I say, if you want to have an unforgettable experience, with a lot of fun and laughs and good vibes, make sure to ask Mr. Giedrius Leškevičius as your pilot!
Giedrius speaks seven (!!!) languages, has lots of great stories to share and also sings great american classics together with the balloon! Finishing the romantic landing with the initiation to Lithuania land owners (=))), entire trip became an amazing night to remember.
The organization was truly professional. Lina was very kind to answer all of my annoying questions and was very helpful, indeed.
Hot-air balloon is a must must must to all the visitor of this lovely country!
Thank you Mr. Giedrius Leškevičius and entire Ballooning.lt team for making this evening one of best for our family this summer!

We booked a flight for two as close as possible to our wedding anniversary, checking the weather forecast first and knowing that balloons can only fly under the right weather conditions. We lucked out! With prompt and clear communications with Ballooning.lt, we were ready to go when they picked us up at 7:20 for our evening flight. These balloons and vehicles are all part of the Ballooning Club of Vilnius. We drove with the pilot and crew in one of their vans, hauling the balloon & equipment in a trailer behind, to our launch spot. We were fortunate enough to launch with 11 other balloons in front of the Europa Mall, next to the river in the heart of Vilnius. It was such a treat to watch not only the set up of our balloon (one of the smallest ones in the club), but also all the rest. We felt that our pilot, Karolis, and his crew were very conscientious in checking the equipment, and were very safety conscious in general. We were given instructions about what to do when taking off and landing (pretty basic!).

It was beautiful and surreal to watch these giant puffs of color ascend into the sky! And then we followed. The only sounds after a certain point are the intermittent WHOOSHes of the burners. So, you're up there floating above a beautiful Medieval/modern city.

Karolis was an excellent pilot which included setting us down in a gentle and totally non-scary way (one of my initial concerns...). At the end of the flight, we were treated to a glass of champagne and a proper 'babtism' for our first flight. Very fun and lovely to share with such a nice group of young people. A highly recommended way to celebrate a special occasion or simply life!

Total time involved from pick-up to drop-off was about 3-4 hours.

I recently went on the hot air balloon ride over Trakai castle. It was an amazing, beautiful, peaceful experience. The weather was a little bit rough early in the day so we were not sure we would do it, but it calmed enough for the flight. It was gorgeous and quiet and surprisingly smooth. We landed a in a field and things were a little windy, so we held on and it was safe, but make sure you are in good shape for walking through a field to the car. The car got stuck for a bit on our way back. During the frustrating time, the captain and crew remained calm and cheerful. They were the best. We had an excellent experience. The captain and his crew are excellent people and handled everything very well. Dropped back off at our hotel and we will never forget the experience.

We took a 'standard' tour of the Vilnius area on a very hot summer evening. The experience was wonderful; we were in the air for over an hour during which we travelled some 40km over northern Vilnius, and it was fascinating. Because of the prevailing wind we didn't get to see Senamiestes, but this can never be guaranteed, and for us the best part was discovering the villages, woodland settlements and wildlife which could not have been seen from the road.
Our pilot was charming and his assistants equally cheerful, we shared a balloon with four other people so it was a little crowded but there was a great atmosphere, especially at the post-flight 'baptism' ceremony. This isn't suitable for anyone who has limited mobility as you have to climb in and out of the basket - or crawl out if it tips on landing - and the evening does involve a lot of standing, waiting for the ballooon to fill, the flight itself, and packing up afterwards. Best take insect repellent in the summer, and sun protection; and bear in mind that there are no loos!

I visited Vilnius in summer 2010 and tried a hot air balloon flight. That was amazing. We took part somewhere in the old city and overflew it. Old Vilnius is really beautiful from above. And the flying itself - it's something unbelievible. You never compare it with any plain or helicopter. The captain and crew were very friendly and professional. That was great!
