Really nice area for walking. Nice art galleries, murals and street art. Cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Good place to see and buy local art and crafts.

The gallery building was bought by the owner and massively renovated. Murals of great beauty and color were painted over by Czarist style uniformity gifted and still infecting the local concept of painting. Background on that, Czarist policy was to paint everything white or beige for decades and it just stuck around all over the former Russian Empire. Currently, people claim it's authentic and traditional when in reality it's an imposition on the previous diverse color pallet and creative painting of the architecture. Back to the incubator, before the purchase it was a place for urban artists to practice on the walls as they saw fit. Since the purchase and restoration, many new sculptures have been added of varying quality and creativity. They made sure to put a giant phallus and equivalent female reproductive representation prominently in front of the building because they are so original and artistic...The stepped seating which descends to the small river was always the place for the young and curious minds of Vilnius to meet and god forbid drink a beer or smoke something. The occupants of the Gallery tend to call the police on people since the takeover, real rebels and free thinkers.
Some fair artists come through the incubator, have met many of them. Some boring artists come through as well, met too many of them. The artist in residence are decent folks, if a bit aloof and detached from reality in their little bourgeois bubble. All in all its a great place for a tourist to go and feel like they understand local art better. For locals, its not much art going on there. Just your typical privileged circle jerk, at least in this local artists opinion.

The art incubator contains pieces of modern art, very diverse and bold experiments leveraging the nature and surroundings of this district. Recommended to visit after exploring historical old town of Vilnius
