We had rhe most amazing experience with Travel Addicts in our tour of the Baltic states. We had two fabulous guides, we loved all of our stops and the hotels all worked well. We made several changes and this company just rolled with all we asked. I have no hesitation recommending this group! They were amazing!!!!

The tour started bright and early at 6am, when myself and a fellow traveller were picked up by our driver Pavel. Pavel was a great guide for the day, he told us alot about the history of not only Vilnius and its surroundings, but also the small towns and villages we passed through on the way to Ignalina NPP. On the way back, he took us the scenic route through the lake country, which was an unexpected surprise. As for the plant, the visit is conducted by an employee of the NPP and is really interesting. After passing through security you change into two layers of clothing to protect against any residual radiation. The NPP guide then takes you to the reactor hall of rector number 2, via a long central corridor. The reactor itself is an RMBK model, the same one that exploded at Chernobyl in 1986. You can stand on the reactor and I had the chance to peer into the spent fuel pools (don't worry, water absorbs any radiation, infact you could swim on the surface and you'd be safe). After visiting the reactor hall, you visit the control room, where its functions are explained, before a visit to the turbine hall, which is in the process of being disassembled. You cannot take pictures, but the guide will take photos for you. A cheap cafe is on site which made good local food. A visit to the workers town of Visaginas followed with Pavel. All-in-all a good day and an interesting experience. Would recommend this tour, with Lina particularly helpful in arranging it.

Guide was excellent, Vilnius is very interesting city. If you go to corner of Piles and Bernardinu street, you can see former teapot store, a wall of teapots, each with own history ;)

We joined the tour quite spontaneously and it was such a good thing to do (: Our guide knew a lot about the city and you could tell he was very interested himself - this way it was easy for us to follow and share his enthusiasm about this awesome city. We'll definitely come back to Vilnius and can recommend the Travel Addicts Free Walking Tour any time!

We were very happy with the service, thank you for that. Vilnius is a beautiful city and it is even nicer in a good company of a local who is willing to share his knowledge and love for the city. The guy who took us around is a historian who has a fair understanding of European history and is able to draw a parallel with different regions in Europe which I appreciated very much. Good learning and I hope well rewarded because it is well deserved. Best, Franjo

We accidentally walked into a Free Walking Tour by Travel Addicts when visiting Vilnius, joined and it was really great! Our guide walked us around city center and all its remarkable places (including both main attractions and small hidden jems of the city), providing the tour with lots of interesting information, and excellent English. Definitely recommend this company and their tours!

A slick, professionally organised and action-packed itinerary. Alina welcomes you with her positive pre-departure emails. Upon arrival in Lithuania, be prepared for daily fun-filled adventures. My adventures were enhanced by my good-humoured local guide, Paulius. He comes across as a modern renaissance man, well-versed on a range of topics, and has a helpful, upbeat personality.

Particular highlights included: a homestead dinner and stay with hospitable locals in Rusnė (the journey there included being towed across a flooded road by a tractor - a wonderful, authentic local experience), visiting Ignalina nuclear power plant and Visaginas (after clearing security and donning protective gear we visited the reactor room, control room, the turbines hangar, had a canteen lunch and then did a guided tour of the information centre), the scenic drive to the Curonian Spit, Nida beach and various museums such as Palanga's Amber museum and Rumšiškės ethnographic museum. Local guides in Klaipėda, Kaunas, Ignalina nuclear power plant, Rumšiškės, Vilnius and Trakai offer insightful explanations to gain a deeper, holistic appreciation of Lithuania's multi-faceted past, present and future aspirations.

Practical tip: bring your own kettle for the hotels if you'd like to make your own tea/coffee/hot drinks; as is typical in many continental European hotels, kettles are not always provided in rooms.

A wonderful itinerary - highly recommended! You'll leave with fond memories of Lithuania's people, cuisine and scenic landscapes.

We were staying for one night at the Downtown Forest Hostel and randomly found out that there would be a free walking tour the next day. Our tour guide Arvydas gave us an amazing experience that we wouldn't have been able to get walking around ourselves. He was extremely knowlegable about the capital's history and culture, but always managed to include a quirky and fun anecdote, so that the tour was never dry. We did walk around for the full three hours, so be prepared for that, but all in all we can 100% recommend this free tour and are glad that the timing worked in our favor :)

If you are in Vilnius you definitely need to join their walking tour of the Old Town and Užupis.

Alina, our guide, showed us places that you'd only see with a local.

We were also told about past and present history of the country and the town, visited the top sightseeing places and I specially enjoyed the time spent in the Užupis district.

The tour takes around 2.5 - 3 hours so you really get to see a lot.

100% recommended!

Lara, thank you so much! We really want to show the other side of the city - the one that locals knows. It's nice to hear we reach our goal! :)
