Tiny but thought provoking

The golden mouse or magic mouse is a piece of street art sculpture in Klaipedia. It might be tiny, but it does leave an impact fdar bigger than its size. The sculpture is surrounded by a bronze band with spells: "Convert your ideas into words - words will become magic". One may only whisper into the ear of the "thaumaturge" and good will is going to become true.

A mouse that grants wishes

A small statue with great significance: you can whisper a wish into the ear of the "wishing mouse" and it will then come true. "Turn thoughts into words - words become miracles." is written on the edge of the sculpture.

There are also cats, dogs, geese and dragons to discover in the old town. They are all not far from each other.

A cute mouse you won't miss

It is in the middle of the old town. It seems all tour groups pass through this spot. Worth a photo.

My wish came true!!!

Perhaps just an amazing co-incidence but my daughter had an appointment with a specialist the morning that we were in Klaipeda to try to get to the bottom of a twenty year illness. I wished in the mouse's ear that she would soon get better. That specialist found the cause of her problems and she is now recovering! No-one else, NHS or Private had come close before that day. So I am ever thankful to that little mouse who played a small part in giving her life back to her.

I did wish for something stupid so it is my own fault, but it was cute and a bit of fun. For those struggling to find it ... it is near a big chessboard.

Very Small Mouse- Hard to Find!

This extremely small (17 cm or 6.75 inches tall or so) bronze statue of a mouse sits on a low wall surrounding a small park , I believe it is on the corner of Kalviy gatve (street) and Mesininky gatve (street). Rumor has it if you whisper your wish into his ear and Turn your thoughts into words". Kind of a fun little thing to do. One should also know that the City of Klaipeda came up with a brilliant idea to help you explore and see the city by creating a " scavenger type hunt" (We actually saw 3 Scandinavian groups- probably a business building exercise, racing around the city in competition). Since we had disembarked from the Norwegian Cruise ship we started at the "Swing-Bridge" (which has the "Black Ghost" statue with lantern, Theater Square with the sculpture/ statue of Anna (when we were there, they were having a sale with booths of artisans), the Magical Mouse, the Dragon , the Sailboat- Meridianas, The Mermaid (hard to find as it was below a bridge and down some steps), and the Warehouse among other points of interest along the scavenger route. Fun to locate these while following a map.

Sorry, but I just thought he was adorable. Apparently, he grants wishes and brings good luck, but all that didn’t matter to us. It was like a treasure hunt trying to find him. He is tiny and not up high on a perch, but oh so cute. He is the most famous mouse in Lithuania
