This is a nice building in the heart of the old town.i would recommend a visit to the museum and climbing the tower. Although you can’t get outside on top of the tower there is a floor with windows near the top. Tourist information is also located in the entrance of the building.

Majestic and picturesque on it's worst days, the Kaunas rotuse (town hall) inspires everyone to look higher. Towering above the surrounding square, this sleek beaut might be confused for a church by the unknowing. A favorite spot for wedding photos, the photogenic structure is planted in the hearts and souls of all who see it. I remember the first time I saw it. I was so shocked how different it looked compared to the more squat, flat and boxy Vilnius and Klaipeda town halls. This was something so different. In all the years since it keeps a special place in my heart. Well maintained, it's a perfect tourist attraction for visitors with a sizable square of equally impressive and historic buildings surrounding it.

Every time, we wanted to walk over there, it rained, so we didn't make it until practically our last day in Kaunas, July 5th. After looking it over from the outside, we stepped inside only to intrude on some sort of private event. There were exhibits all around us, an accordionist was playing, and people were being interviewed by journalists. So, not wanting to interfere, we made a fast exit.

The construction of this building began in 1542, and the latest restoration was in 2005, when it was painted an ivory color, instead of the former white. It is fascinating as it shows elements of Gothic, Renaissance, late Baroque and early Classicism architecture, and all those details can be easily picked out. The slender and graceful tower is over 173 feet tall, and at one time, the cellar of this tower was used as a prison.

This "old" Rotušė (Town Hall), no longer operates as City Hall, but houses a ceramic Museum downstairs, and an open lobby area for exhibiting. Also, the Wedding Hall is here, so on weekends, you can see lots of brides and grooms in the vicinity.

Very busy place with lots of weddings going on. Nice crawl up into the roof space and some interesting views on the way up. Worth a visit.

Very cheap and enjoyable sight. Worth visiting. The male guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The bell tower offers a good view.

Towards the end of the wide avenue with trees, I saw this beautiful building. Although covered with some construction materials, I could see it to be pleasing to my eyes.

Quite beautiful and resembling a church at first glance, the Town Hall anchors the old main square. It has served many purposes and continues to do so. Worth a visit, and the view from the tower is lovely. Architecturally correct and attractive re-construction.

It is one of the symbols of the city. The building is a good landmark and place where you can take nice photos (in front of it...). In Christmas time you may find some nice market in the square as well an impressive X-mas tree or ice sculptures.
