Had a great time here, displays are really good, well preserved. I am not an aeroplane expert, but took lots of photos and enjoyed my time. We spoke to the man who sold us our tickets, very friendly and interested in where we were from and suggested another tourist spot.

Good photos and models, I have seen much more models in others museum even of modern aircrafts. But the texts were great although not every was translated. There are nice things to see although you have to pay 1,5€ to fly simulator which is not that good. But nice museum for aviation enthusiasts. :)

Always wanted to visit is. Seen the internet photos. Closed for las 2 years due to Covid. Of it
90% is closed. New building for exhibitions being built. Only a few outside aircraft to view.
The website makes no mention of this.
The Webb site is the best you are going to see of it. Opening times are listed yes. No mention as to what if anything you will actual see. Most of the outside aircraft and vehicles about 20 are just hulks.
Maybe in 2 years it will be worth a visit. They don't work quickly building anything quickly in Kaunas.
Sad waste of time.

An interesting museum. We love everything about airplanes and aviation. Therefore, we decided to visit this museum. The visit exceeded expectations. We saw many planes both indoors and outdoors.

This was a birthday gift to my son’s 6th birthday. I hoped that they will be more excited about aviation technologies and history, but they where happy with the ice cream. However this is the only place in Lithuania, where aviation enthusiasts can have their hands on real planes and jet fighters.
The only disappointment was the building it self. The greatness of exhibits fades because of gray environment. Hopefully they will get funding to fix this.

It's not the biggest aviation museum we have ever seen but we enjoyed the visit. For a cheap ticket price you can see many interesting parts of the aircrafts, part of Lithuanian history. It's a few kilometers far from Kaunas; we walked almost one hour but there are many buses. The visit takes almost one hour, the museum is nice, interesting. Recommended!!!

The first time I visited this museum a few years ago I was so lucky that the curator showed me around the whole museum and explained the exhibition. Since then I have been there several times and see that the museum is in constant development with new exhibits being added. There is both an inside and outside area. You can see much of Lithuania's aviation history and outside there are some Soviet built planes both civil and military. The museum is in the terminal building of the Alexsotas airport which was the main airport in Kaunas before it was moved to Karmelava. The airport is still used for private and exhibition flights and other events. The arrival and departure hall of the terminal building has very interesting frescos on the walls.
