After the building of the Orthodox Church of St. Michael the Archangel (Archangel Church) was transferred to the Catholic community, it was decided in the mid-30s to build a new Orthodox church - the Annunciation Cathedral in the New Town. The five-domed temple in the Vladimir-Suzdal style of architecture is located near the railway station. This is the first attraction of Kaunas that tourists see when getting off the train.

Set in a peaceful park a bit outside of the old city and the commercial district, the Annunciation church is beautifully decorated inside with a lovely iconostasis. Worth a stop if you're passing through the area.

The interior is magnificent. We have been to Europe 15 Times. And sometimes my husband will say
Really? You want to go in another
Church? Well Yes. It looks like nothing special on the outside
But, Go inside. Beautiful
