I really enjoyed walking around the site - plenty of nice architecture, green spaces, people just having family time. Also great place for photos and finding little hidden gems. The castles itself looks great and the rehabilitation seems to have been done quite well.
We found this was a recommended thing to see whilst in Kaunas, so we thought we would check it out. The weather was good so we walked around the grounds, sadly it was closed on a Monday, so we couldn't go in, but in fairness...More
There is a nice view from the castle tower and a small interesting exhibition but besides that there is not much inside that you cannot see from the outside. The entrance fee is very modest though so do go inside.
Unfortunately, like most things in Lithuania at the moment, the castle was closed for refurbishment in preparation for the visit from the Pope. However, it was a place of interest and I'll be coming back when works are complete.
