I have to be honest – I hadn't heard of Ciurlionis before. And I had been missing out. It turned out that he was a true pioneer of symbolism. His earliest works dated back to the very beginning of the 20th century. Not only was he a trendsetter, he was really prolific as well. During his short time as a painter... More

Ciurlionis, who is little known outside Eastern Europe, produced an amazing body of work. The quite modern museum both displays his painting and has a music salon where visitors can select and listen to several pieces. Well worth a vist by those interest in 20th Century painting and music. As usual with Baltic cultural establishment, the entrance fee is derisory... More

Anyone who likes art and is in Lithuania should visit this museum. M.K. Ciurlionis is an amazing artist and this museum has the biggest collection of his original art. Museum is close to downtown and to a few other great museums. Other Lithuanian artists are also exhibited here, allow over 3 hours if you want to see the whole museum.... More

A modern and attractive gallery devoted to the art and music of Ciurlionis. There appear to be rooms for other exhibits although these were not open when I visited. It is possible to have a guide in English - presumably if arranged in advance

The building is very attractive from the outside... More
