This open-air museum is located just outside the city of Martin. You can easily reach it by public transport and then just 15 minutes of walk ... it is very much worth to visit it. All buildings are well preserved and maintained. Spare 2-3 hours...More

Large size, packed with wooden houses, stables and other historical buildings. Quite informative, it is possible to get an English speaking guide. Look out for a day when some activity is happening - worth every minute of it (although quite many people). Lovely little souvenir...More

We visited this place on a nice day with event, look for a calendar of events, it is worth. The area is quite big, so plan some time for it. The „pub“ is very simple and needs some time to get what you want.

We were met by a kind English-speaking guide at the entrance. Many of the buildings are in bad shape. It is not possible to enter most of the Buildings. The explaining texts does not give a proper introduction to the daily life in a Slovak...More

For context, it was below freezing as I ambled far from the parking lot to the entrance (a quarter mile at least), just beyond the entrance lay an exceptional collection of traditional Slovakian folk architecture. To paraphrase Julia Morgan, If architecture is a visual art,...More

The village consists of many traditional Slovak houses brought from various regions and a beautiful wooden church. I think they could do a bit more to entertain visitors, especially the youngest ones. Unless there is a Christmas program or any other religious celebration expect a...More
