Name is not right
Feb 2021
May be this is cave from ice age. The Ice Cave name itself is not appropriate, we are of opinion. The parky space is huge.

Visit to the Demanovska Ice Caves
Sep 2019
We found this outing to be a complete waste of money. parking was 7 Euros.
Entrance was 8 Euros each and we paid 10 Euro's for the privilege of taking photo's.
The young man leading the 'tour' only spoke Slovakian and we were not offered head phones for translation at all. We were rushed through the caves, which we very ordinary. We have visited Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and the Cango Caves in South Africa - spectacular caves compared to these. We particularly went to see the ice formations of stalagtites and stalagmites - but all we saw we a couple of blocks of ice in one section. It was most disappointing.

Don’t believe everything you read about these!
Sep 2019 • Couples
I almost didn’t go to these after reading some of the reviews. My husband persuaded me they would be OK.
It was a bit of a hike up the hill, the parking was 7€ and the photo permission €10, but the actual entry of 8€ seemed pretty cheap compared to what we would pay at home!
Yes the tour was in Slovakian, but we downloaded English info before we went.
I was pretty concerned about the number of steps and narrowness mentioned in some reviews, but found most of the walk easy (I am not that young or that fit!). The climb up the stairs at the end was a bit tiring, but not unmanageable!
The caves were pretty interesting - our one complaint (if any) was that for €10 photo fee, a bit more time in some sections would have been good!

Nice to visit but not for older people
Jul 2019
The climb up was quiet exhausting for family members but it was good there were places they could rest while going up. The climb took almost 20 minutes. The tour was ok, very cold for sure but we saw little snow (ice) as they said this season it wasn’t much.
I was disappointed I couldn’t take pictures because we should have purchased picture credit which we didn’t know about.

Bloody awful
Jul 2019 • Couples
Please don't waste your time or money going here. There is a perfectly nice cave further up the road. The ice cave was over full as we were dragged at breakneck speed around. The cave itself is very boring with no colour or anything of interest. the "ice" was just a little mound on the ground. They were taking groups of 60 every 8 minutes and so the small cave was just full of people. Just an awful and boring experience for everyone in our group and we all left very angry and disappointed.

Walking into a frezzer
Aug 2018
After taking a walk up the path in the middle of a summer’s day we found ourselves in this ice cave, our guide led us down the steps into this natural freezer the flow of water that once traveled deep into the cave was frozen solid. I will not write any more about the cave because I think it will spoil your visit, instead I will tell you about the location. It’s not easy to find and the walk up to it once parked is not hard but take care if you are unfit or old, bring water and something to eat the restaurants back on the road are very limited on food so be prepared, there was a wait when we arrived as only one group at a time enters the cave you also have to pay to take photos so if there is a few in your group select one person to take all the photos it’s worth the charge. It’s a great place so it’s worth the trip to find the cave.

Nice place but not so impressive as we thought
May 2019 • Couples
The cave is nice but if you think you will find there so much ice like in Dobszynska Ice Cave or so many karst structures like in Liberty Cave you will be disappointed.
The infrastructure surrounding the cave is good (as in other Slovak caves). The parking price is from the moon ( 6Euro) so we decided to leave the car and go to Liberty cave by foot just not to pay it twice. If you have time (30-40 min) you could really do that - it's a nice walk on a path by the river with many benches etc.

You can be impressed by the size, but not the ice
Sep 2018 • Couples
A large cave with high spaces, but disappointment with the absence of ice.
The guidance was poor, only in local languish. The lady guide did a favor to add a few words in English
I saw ice caves more beautiful than that.

Zchlazení v parném dni
Jul 2018 • Friends
Neberou zde karty, platba pouze v Eurech. Jeskyně je hezká, i v létě je zde pořád co vidět. I v létě je nutné vzít si něco na sebe. V nejnižší části jeskyně jsou teploty dost nízké. Průvodce byl příjemný a milý mladík, kterého práce očividně baví.

This summer we visited only one cave here, "Demänovská Ice cave". To get there you have to park your car at the parking lot and walk up the hill. It takes around 10-15 minutes. There is a wooden cabin next to the entrance to teh cave. You can buy tickets there, also some souvenirs or go to the toilet. They do not accept credit cards and you can pay only in Euros. The cave is really nice, there are nice thing to see even in the summer. I recommend to take some coat, hoodie or something warmer. Temperature is really low in the bottom part of the cave. Our guid was really kind, enthusiastic, obviously he likes his job.

Nice and short
Aug 2018 • Family
The cave's nice to see, and the visit isn't too taxing. Grandma will have to climb few hundred steps to get out, but is manageable.
Make sure you take your time to climb up the 70 mt ascension to the entrance: in summer that can be quite taxing, especially if you're hurrying trying to get a ticket.
