Had an excellent tour with Slavo in the 1985 Skoda. He was a great tour guide speaking very good English with a great knowledge of the area’s history. He gave us a very vivid insight into the controversy and struggle people experienced under Soviet control and in memorialising it’s legacy today. It was clear this wasn’t just a job for Slavo but a passion project from personal experience. The drinks bottles and old currency he had collected added to his story of the region’s history and culture. We had mentioned we were particularly interested in the abandoned nuclear bunker and magnesite factory so Slavo detoured out of his way to show us these. The tour overran by an hour and a half but there was no sense of urgency, only making sure we’d had the full experience. There’s no way we could have seen a fraction of this stuff on our own during our short visit, and it helped us understand the city from a local’s perspective rather than as an outsider. So much more interesting than the usual tourist attractions. We saw the area warts and all including the gypsy slum which was an eye opener. We were allowed to drive the Skoda around a 1970s steelworks estate which you’d never get to do on a more official tour. The tour finished off in a beer garden with recommended beer and ice cream all purchased for us by Slavo, with a great presentation of some historical images of the places in the tour. Was completely worth it and well-recommended if you want to learn about Košice through an authentic and raw lens and venture off of the beaten track!…

Slavo was a delightful guide. We didn’t know much about Kosice history, especially communist. It was fascinating. We saw sights we never would have seen on our own and tried local snacks. The Skoda sets the perfect mood and was icing on the cake.

Slavo was a very good guide, showing us a lot to understand Kosice and its surroundings in a broader sense than what you do, just seeing the old town. A great combination of cultural, historical, sociological and political aspects. Highly recommendable if you enjoy exploring!

Slavo gave us an amazing tour, very informative and taking us to see some of the more hidden sights of the city. His English is superb and he has a wealth of historical and social knowledge of the area. It was well worth the money and I would advise anyone visiting the city to take the time to see the city through Slavo's eyes. Brilliant. …
