The best view of this lovely building is from the small park with the fountains in the foreground. It is exquisitely decorated with statues on top of the balcony above. A throw back to Victorian times and worth a look.

Although the outside is still undergoing renovations, the inside was beautifully presented and took you back in time to a previous century with crimson upholstery and gilded detailing. I watched the ballet "Spartacus" and was enthralled. The staff were very helpful and gracious to a non-Slovak speaking foreigner and I would gladly return. I should also mention the top price... Over 100 years old but looks older and great for photos. It is just next to the cathedral Saint Elizabeth and proposes a very diverse program changing almost everyday. A gem of Kosice.

We entered in the theater an hour before the premiére of The Traviata - badly dressed as two twenty-something, shoestring travellers in a -5°C December evening may be, asking when it would have been possible to visit the inside of the building. They immediately accompanied us in a personal mini-tour, with two nice girls that spoke good English and gave... More

After visiting Milan couple days ago, I have to admit we do not take things we have at home for precious enough. This place is far more beautiful than La Scala (no offense) and most of its beauty is hidden inside. If you don´t speak Slovak, try one of the operas. The price is almost nothing (most tickets under 10... More

One of my favourtie theatres. They play a huge variety of classical as well as contemporary plays. The building is also charming so the experience is always outstanding .

The State Theater of Kosice is located in the same place (as everything culturally important in the city) on the Hlavna ulica. The building is very impressive outside even that its neighbor is Cathedral of St. Elizabeth. The Theater absolutely doesn't inferior to the Cathedral because it is quite tall and well-dressed even in contrast to many capital theaters around... More

like concerts and dislike uncomfortable seats. Building is beautifull, you can also arrange small events on upper floor after performance. Opera and ballet are of good quality.

This place is amazing it is like stepping into the past and escaping from the real world for a few hour's. I would recommend having one of the boxes as this is where you get a great feel for the place. The shows are top class and I would recommend it to everyone.
