It is not that hard. Catch a tram #3, 5, or 7 with destination Raca. You can buy a ticket on the tram from a machine. Use English flag button to get translation. You will need a zone 100/101 ticket. Alight at Detvianska, walk to right 100m to bus stop for buses#52, 56. There are about 4 per hour. It is then about 5 stops. The tram ride was about 25 minutes and another 7 minutes on the bus. The Locomotiva 1 stop is past where you want to go, but if you go a little further you see the old steam loco with the map. Then go back about 400m along the lane, do a U - turn and there you are. I came on a Wednesday in mid September at 10.00 hrs. The gate was open, but no one was around. I could see all the external exhibits and they were very impressive. I took so many photos as I walked all over.

Although it is close to the station - we did not find it easily - sighposting could be a lot better! That said, really enjoyed our visit. It's not the most polished museum, but it's only €3. Quite an eclectic mix of stuff, but if you're even slightly interested in cars or trains you'll enjoy it.
