Only low review score because the statue has been moved, but no-one seemd to no where....and yet all the tourist information is still showing this as being in the main square leaning on the seat, just like the photo here.

Plenty of these attractions dotted around the streets of Bratislava. There’s a series of these..my favourite is the man peeping out of the manhole. Very good for photographs.

We searched high and low but this soldier was levered off his pedestal, the bench was destroyed, and both have gone to be 'renovated'.

The french soldier is leaning on a bench you can sit on – and have a great photo! And this statue has its story. It is said that after Napoleon's army passed through Bratislava, a soldier (named Hubert) fell in love with a local women and remained here. That's how Hubert sparkling wine was born. And something else. Right opposite soldier Hubert, there is still a statue, also a French soldier, a statue that many tourists do not know.
