Until reading the other reviews today, I was not aware how lucky we were to find the synagogue and museum in Bratislava open on our Friday visit. We were surprised to see a synagogue listed on the tourist map and stopped in the tourist information...More

Very interesting tour of the synagogue and life in Bratislava. The synagogue also includes an interesting museum on the second floor which gives more insight into the history of the community. The synagogue is walking distance from the castle and from the boats. The tours...More

After finding the place we get a shut down and locked building. No info on the buidling about the opening hours. The building looks a bit dirty/old. Nothing special. It's just a historical building which offers little, especially when compared to other Bratislava's monuments.

Found this synagogue unexpectedly while out for a walk one Sunday. Really interesting and a very friendly informative guide. Enjoyable visit.

The synagogue is not itself so special, but the museum housed upstairs where the ladies gallery used to be is fascinating . It tells the story of the Bratislava Jewish community which was once substantial and which suffered persecution by the Nazis. There are many...More

I had made contact with the Jewish community in order to visit the synagogue with its small museum. The synagogue reminded me of the Orthodox synagogues I have been to. The museum contained various items of religious significance as well as local history. I'm glad...More

The only Jewish synagogue in Bratislava at Heydukova St. is now accessible for public (Friday 1pm-4pm, Sunday 10am-1pm) during summer season (June 2 - Oct 13). The building itself is also very interesting example of modern cubist style (built 1926) combined with traditional elements and...More
