We originally visited just for the tower views of the old city, but ended up enjoying the museum just as much. It is absolutely packed full of history, especially the later half after climbing the tower. I would especially suggest not missing the torture chambers....More

If you are interested in Bratislava’s history and historical architecture then this is the place for you! For €5 I had ‘full access’ (not exactly what I would get for less). Not only is there room after room of historical artefacts on all subjects from...More

It has different floors showing different times in the history of Bratislava. The circular stairs take you to the top of the building which provides nice views of the city. There is no audio recording but have the description in English. The most interesting part...More

I enjoyed my visit here. There are several floors of exhibits that cover various aspects such as religious items, how the building came about, things of former owners of the building, etc. Highlight of my visit was the climbing of 88 narrow, circular steps to...More

There's a lot in this museum - some nice rooms, including woodwork and painted ceilings and local artifacts, such as painted shooting targets, regalia, manuscripts, chests, pictures, maps and drawings etc. Lovely view from the tower - worth the entry from this alone.

Interesting little museum right in the heart of the city with a broad range of artefacts nicely laid out in an intuitive stroll around what was originally a 14th century merchants house. The climb up the tower is via a steep and narrow spiral staircase...More

I had to choose one museum, picked this one and was so glad. The displays were interesting; there was English text everywhere; some of the displays were things I had not seen anywhere else. I can't compare, but if you have to pick one and...More

Well worth the €5 or 2.50 for concessions. Large number of rooms with a variety of curios. Not so much a history of the city but a selection of various bits and bobs. All major info in Slovak and English. Route through not greatly signed...More
