This museum is small but very interesting.Walking thorough winding staircases with a nice history of the area. This is as you wind your way up to the tower with some nice city views. Also included on this tour is the terror museum or torture museum which ever...More

I had to choose one museum, picked this one and was so glad. The displays were interesting; there was English text everywhere; some of the displays were things I had not seen anywhere else. I can't compare, but if you have to pick one and...More

Well worth the €5 or 2.50 for concessions. Large number of rooms with a variety of curios. Not so much a history of the city but a selection of various bits and bobs. All major info in Slovak and English. Route through not greatly signed...More

Situated in the old town hall the museum is not the greatest but ok If it’s raining. While the exhibits are interesting it gives you little or no sense of how long the city has been occupied, insufficient English information left me none the wiser....More

In the centre of the Old city. Free to wander with many interesting exibits. In the celler is the torture chamber where there are on display many cruesome instruments and devices used in medival times. I didn't know the human race were such gruesome people.

Very good city museum in the Old Town Hall, a fascinating building with a viewpoint from the tower. Wide selection of exhibits with info in English. Well worth a visit.

This isn't so much a museum but has a few cool things. The main concept is you are able to walk up the clock tower to the top viewing point where you have an unprecedented view from the central square to the castle. Really amazing....More

We had bought a combi ticket so decided to visit it as had some time- such a great idea! You can climb to top of Bell tower and get amazing views within the city! The museum starts off with religious artefacts, but gets more interesting...More

The museum was full of interesting artefacts in a historical building. The items have been really well laid out and labelled. Everything is described in Slovak and English and some of the staff also speak English. A native English speaker had obviously done the translations...More

We bought a combined ticket for the Town Hall (City Museum) and Viticulture / Historical Interiors museum next door. Although this is only EUR 2 more expensive the former was worth it whilst the latter wasn't. Inside you get a nice view of the castle,...More
