This was a really interesting museum to visit for a ridiculously cheap price! It seems to go on and on and and one gets a really good idea of the history of the country. They managed to collect hundreds of items that are very well displayed so make sure you give yourself time to visit this museum.

We visited the museum to relieve ourselves of the hot sunshine, had a lovely time looking around the exhibits. One of the staff helped by informing us in sign language and mixed language what we were looking at. Very enjoyable.

The display and the lighting was not very impressive. Unless you are a museum buff it may not be worth your time.

There is a lot to see in here, including the evolution of the building itself as it was used for various purposes. There is a chapel, several beautifully decorated rooms and a variety of artefacts and exhibits about the history of the town. Well worth a visit.

Not as interesting as many historic town museums but still worth a visit because of its location (right in the middle of the main square), the very reasonable entry fee and the interesting building which includes a very steep tower with a stunning view over the old town.

This museum has a terrific collection of artifacts that cumulatively tell the story of Bratislava very nicely. There are several documents and decorative pieces that date back several centuries. Some of the doors to the upstairs rooms are quite fascinating. Look for the Rococo door that, until 1948, was part of the room that housed official documents. Take notice of... More

Firstly, the senior rate was 2 euros! Secondly, the building alone is worth the tour. It is a spectacular old city hall. The chapel with original painted walls is amazing. They have quite a range of artifacts of the area, including the city charter from the 1300s. We enjoyed the clothing and jewelry on display, and learned a lot about... More

Visit this museum to experience what i assume must be a relic of Communist service without a smile. The place is run by scowling old women who take deep offence if you attempt to ignore the official route around the museum. A lot of money must have been spent on this place. What a shame it is so unwelcoming.

The museum is around a square and the square is surrounded by lovely restaurants. We had a super dinner sitting in this square one evening. Quiet and no traffic. Would recommend this to everyone.
