A must, but more because of the surroundings than the castle itself.

Although we never entered the castle, a walk around it day or night is a must. The view from the top is fantastic of Bratislava, the danube, further country side and the UFO

The castle itself was gutted by fire and neglect in the previous century, and has had major restoration work done in the past decades. The result is that the outside looks impressive, but the inside is more sterile. All rooms are plastered white and some have delicate ornaments and beautiful golden details, but others are plain white boxes. The museum... More

The castle stays closed for visits (museum etc.) on Mondays, but I walked up from St.Martin's cathedral via the underpass. Took me all of 15 minutes to get to the grounds, through the Sigismund gate. I went on a cloudy day, but a clear day will offer you breathtaking views of the city, the bridge atop the river and the... More

after an arduous climb up to the castle we dicovered that the original building was completely destroyed by fire so the castle is virtually brand new by castle standards. there were not a great deal of exibits to see, dont get me wrong the workmanship in the castle is amazing but it is not the same as an old building.

Great walk up to some good views of UFO bridge and old town. Can walk around grounds for free. Worthwhile.

Bratislava Castle is the main castle of Bratislava. The massive rectangular building with four corner towers stands on an isolated rocky hill of the Little Carpathians directly above the Danube river in the middle of Bratislava. Because of its size and location, it has been a dominant feature of the city for centuries. The location provides excellent views of Bratislava,... More

I know that it is all about the architecture etc but we thought this was more of a large house rather than castle in the traditional sense . Fantastic views from the grounds over the city and good leg exercise getting up there to work off the dumplings !

Being born here, this one is of the few sightseeing that never got old. With many hidden paths, there's always something to discover! Breathtaking views over the city centre, Austria, the bridge with UFO, or the other half of the town. Don't forget to enter the castle, with galleries and underground wells. Or just relax in the lower garden surrounded... More
