The walk up to the castle is picturesque and worth it for the views. Inside the castle the museum has some interesting exhibits and allows you to climb the crown tower to get even better views including Devin Castle in the distance and the old town below. Worth a visit.

Didn't go inside, but went up there to admire the views. The building and its courtyard looked impressive enough.

Took the tourist train from the church in centre and had a 1 hour tour for €10 per person, took you round old town & up to Hrad Castle where we spent about 20 mins before getting back on. It was 27 degrees & we had just arrived so it was a good way to get our gloves rings and... More

Much of the structure has been reconstructed but still worth a visit, if only for the spectacular views over the Danube and Bratislava city. The gardens are beautiful and extensive and are an ideal place for a picnic on a nice summer's day. You can walk back into the Old Town if you can handle the steep gradients and steps.

This Castle is located on the top of a Hill a short walk up from the Old Town quarter. Small trains are available to bring you to the Castle if you do not fancy the climb. This is not a castle in the traditional sense of the word. Many changes have been made to it over the centuries. One glass... More

Easy walk from the Old Town to the Castle. Nicely renovated. You can see 3 countries when looking out from the wall according to a guide. Tickets are available for a little more than €7 to enter inside the Castle and have a look at the history and Slovakian artifacts as well as documentation on the restoration process of the... More

A mid-morning walk up the hill to Bratislava Castle proved a worthwhile exercise on a blue-sky day. The walk pushed my appetite into overdrive, so when I finished my brief solo tour (taking in great views of the River Danube down below the walls) I found the Castle restaurant, took an outdoor seat with a view to the Old Town,... After a climb to get there you are rewarded with great views of the city. We didnt go in but wandered around the outside. Lovely garden at the back and nice walk down the other side through the old town.
