Needed a break during our road trip so decided to stop at the DinoPark, which is within the zoo and covered by the same entrance fee. Dino Park was pretty good if, like us, you have a 4-year-old who knows his parasaurolophuses from his pachycephalosauruses. Lots of different life-size model dinosaurs, some of them animated, although the mosquitos were very real and made us reluctant to explore the areas off the main path. Unfortunately the zoo part also felt like a trip back in time, where most of the animals would arguably have been better off going extinct. Small dirty enclosures and animals looking a bit worse for wear. Perhaps we’d been spoilt by visits to Berlin Zoo and UK safari parks, but it would have been better if we could have just visited the dinopark section on its own. Very cheap and killed a couple of hours, but draining on the soul!

My husband and I weren't entirely sure what to expect having read the mixed reviews and were very pleasantly surprised. We caught the 30 bus very easily from the bus station below the UFO bridge which cost us only 0.35 euro each way! The zoo was clean and tidy ard we spent a lovely 2 1/2 hours walking around the very scenic wooded areas. There was a great range of animals to see, including my favourite red pandas. It's a great way to spend half a day in the fresh air with exercise added. Highly recommended.

The zoo is certainly not the best I have visited but some of the 1* reviews here are pretty unfair. The zoo is a conservation zoo but is not in a hugely affluent nation, so does it's best. I was slightly concerned about the Dwarf hippo's enclosure, but the rest that we saw were fine. The bear is majestic & was chilling quite happily in his area, as were the lions. I particularly liked the bison who have a big area at the top of the zoo. At €7.00 it's reasonably priced & yeah, it's a bit scruffy at the edges but it's a lovely space & a nice way to spend a beautiful autumn afternoon.

Looked on the web for something to do and realised the zoo was very near my hotel so I looked on trip advisor and very nearly changed my mind. The critique that came up wasn't very good but I thought, go on give it a chance so I did. The weather said rain so I took a waterproof but didn't need it, bright sunshine. It was only 7 euro entrance fee so I thought if it's rubbish then I haven't lost much. I was pleasantly surprised. It's quite a tidy zoo and I even saw a member of staff cleaning the glass walls. Yes some of the pens were empty but it told you so and this is true of many zoos. I don't agree about the size of cages and a lot of the animals had loads of room. It is a biggish zoo with plenty of distance between exhibits to walk so take good shoes. And finally , I got a postcard for 10 cents. Beat that.

I went to Bratislava ZOO with my small kids but to be honest it is the worst zoo we have visited. All the areal looks like they do not care about. Animals looks old and tired. Cages are rusty! Do not waste your time if you visit Bratislava. There is better places to visit. And if you really want to see nice zoo than go to Vienna. It is just 1 hour.
