Walked up the very big hill for a great view of the city at sunset. Not sure if you can go in it in daytime but nice free views all the same

Assuming you’re fairly active, it’ll take you around 25 mins from the old town to climb the hill to the memorial. There are a few different routes – see Google Maps – all through a residential area. This poignant memorial commemorates the Soviet liberation of...More

I really like these monuments! Slavín is a memorial monument and military cemetery, situated on a hill (Malé Karpaty) , dedicated to the soldiers of the Soviet Red Army and people of Bratislava who fell while liberating the city from the German (Nazis) troops! It...More

Followed the route suggested on the official map but it looks like a route through one stairs has been closed/blocked by a property owner so you have to make a small detour. Not helpful or signed. The Monument itself is quite nice. Peaceful, quiet, thought...More

There is something about these memorial romantic nationalism places. Even though it is not my normal place to visit while traveling, I’m glad that I did this time. The walk up to the monument was very nice. Since this is not only a memorial ground...More

It's a monumental cemetery of soviet soldiers that died during the 2WW near Bratislava. It's a quiet, not crowded place up on the hill. I recommend to take a walk from the city and then go downhill to the castle.

Very nice and spacious place with a beautiful view of the entire city. Not very crowded at the time of our visit, totally worth the walk.

A huge monument for soldiers died during the II World War, more than 55m high, and surrounded by a dramatic atmosfere. The park is absolutely free entry, and also offer a magnificent see of the city, being on the top of the hill

We were taken by the little trains going through Bratislava, and because of an important forum, Bratislava Castle was off limits, so they took us to Slavin. It's definitely worthwhile, because of the view and because you get to see how things were during the...More
