Our family of 4 were recently in Vienna around Christmas time and had one extra day to schedule an activity. We looked at daytrips and found this tour. The value seemed almost too good to be true because it included, just as the name says- "Nearly All" of what most people go to see in Bratislava. Since there were not as many reviews we were a bit hesitant but we took the risk and signed up. Boy, are we glad we did.

Daniela normally does this tour I understand, but we were very fortunate to have been assigned a tour guide named Paul. He was absolutely encyclopedic with facts, history, and details about everything and anything about Slovakia.

We took a 1 hour train from Vienna and met him at a nearby hotel. We then took a private walking tour of the main square and the Blue Church. Paul's perfect English made for ideal conversation and he answered all of our questions.

We then got on a mini-van and drove out to Devin Castle to see what are left of the ruins to what was once an impressive fortification. It was destroyed by Napoleon's forces I understand and now serves as a tourist destination with great views from high above.

When we drove back, our waking tour included Bratislava Castle, also perched high up on a hill. It had commanding view of the river, bridge, and the city below. We continued down to see St. Michael's Gate, the Old Town Hall, and much more. Everything was postcard picturesque and the city itself was very well kept and bustling with people. We always felt very safe and the people all were friendly and nice.

We also stopped for lunch and Paul recommended some of his favorite restaurants where we could get a more authentic meal. It was very busy that day so we actually had to try several before one had seating available, but it did not matter because the food, beer and company were all excellent. Paul shared many stories with us and we had non-stop conversation all throughout lunch. It's as if we were being given a tour by an old college roommate.

After lunch we continued to walk around some more to take in more sights and just enjoy the narrow streets and bustling city life. When our time had come to an end he made sure we got a taxi back to the train station and he stayed with us to make sure that the taxi driver knew exactly where we were going. Everything worked out perfectly and we thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

We did not really know that much about Bratislava so this was all a pleasant surprise for us. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our week long stay in Vienna actually.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone with a desire to explore the capital city of Slovakia. It is an easy trip from Vienna and for the reasonable price, this is one of the best values you can find.

We booked a private Bratislava City Walk tour. It was a very interesting tour about the history of Bratislava / Slovakia and our tour guide Daniela showed us the sights within the old town center. Getting to know more about the coronation era was a highlight for me. Afterwards she gave us advice what else we could do in Bratislava.
With our lovely and knowledgeable guide Daniela the two hours were flying by.
Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic tour with Anna from Taste Bratislava (€65 per person).
This tour combines a lunch of traditional Slovak food, wine tasting of Slovak wines with the opportunity to buy afterwards, a tour of the old town, Slovak delicacies like honey mead and cranberry wine, plus Anna's fantastic knowledge of all things Slovak. The tour was approx 3 hours and we talked non stop about Slovak political history, social history, economics and how Slovakia is changing in the 21st century.
It was fascinating and Anna was the perfect host.
Strongly recommended.

We booked this tour a couple of days before we left for Bratislava and I'm glad we did. Daniela was very accommodating when we asked for her to pick us up at our apartment and we started with a trip to the Blue Church and then on to Devin castle. It was strange to try and picture this ancient place as not so long ago being on the frontline of the Iron Curtain. Back in Bratislava we visited the Soviet war memorial and then spent some time in the castle grounds before heading back into the old town for a bite to eat and a stroll through some of the interesting alleyways.

The day was a great introduction to Bratislava and helped us get our bearings in the old town too. We learned and saw so much that we'd never have found out on our own in the short time we had in the city.

I'd recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see Bratislava, but doesn't have a long break in which to do it. The first part of the day is in a car and then, once back in Bratislava you are on foot - a perfect combination of covering lots of ground and seeing things up close.

My wife and I really enjoyed the the craft beer tour. Our guide Daniela was very knowledgeable and provided a great experience. The places on the tour were all different and had excellent selection of beers. If you are in Bratislava, I highly recommend Taste Bratislava and their beer tour.

The best and cheapest way to travel to Bratislava from Vienna is Train. Take train from the Vienna central station or Vienna HBF direct to Bratislava. If you are in the city , you can buy tickets from any stations where you have S-Trains. Same ticket will take you from say Wien Mitte to HBF and from there to Bratislava.
You can walk across the city (old city) in a day or take hop on hop off tour. Don't forget to dine in one of the old street restaurants.
